I do not own The Originals, Vampire Diaries, or Twilight.
“Can I go play with them?”
Bella looked over as Noel pointed to a group of children by the sandbox.
“Sure, but stay where I can see you.”
“He’s precious.” One of the other mothers complimented.
Bella smiled in response.
Bella opened her book but the horrific scream of the mother sitting beside her had her shooting to her feet. Her jaw dropped as Noel stood in the middle of the sandbox. He was covered in blood and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. His bottom lip quivered as he looked to the children lying beside him.
“I’m sorry, mama’!”
“Noel…” She called in disbelief.
“I no mean to!” He cried and was reaching for her.
Bella took a step towards her son only to hear the familiar clearing of a throat. She snapped her head that direction.
“We’ll be taking over from here…”
Bella shot up with a gasp.
“Are you alright?” Elijah questioned with a soothing hand along her back.
She pinched the bridge of her nose but nodded. Elijah pulled her into his chest and kissed the top of her head.
She nodded against him.
“Hm. Well next time you find a way to bring me in and I’ll vanquish whatever you two are facing.”
Bella smiled on this.
“Such the gentleman.”
“Always.” He said with fullest sincerity.
Elijah rolled Bella onto her back and hovered over her. He kissed her lips then left a trail of kisses along her neck. The kisses continued as he ducked beneath the covers. Bella moaned into her pillow as he went on to kiss the area of her sex. He spread her apart then buried himself within her. She pulled at his hair as he put his tongue to work. Elijah slid his hands beneath her, encouragingly. He let out a significant moan as he had her humping his face.
“More Isabella…” He pleaded between breaths.
Elijah let out a bit of a growl and flung the covers off them. With one swift movement he had her on all fours. He slipped a single finger into her slit and merely observed as she soaked that finger. His eyes went black with lust as he licked that particular finger clean.
“More.” He demanded and went on to fully finger her.
The Original shook his head as she was dripping all over their satin sheets.
“Such a naughty girl, Isabella. You’re making a mess…” He scolded but with a seductive grin.
His hands ran up along her breasts. And with his hand around her throat, he brought her against him. She panted out his name as his fangs sank into her flesh and he pumped himself within.
“Mama’ sleeping?” Noel questioned as Elijah got his breakfast prepared.
“Mama’ very tired?”
Elijah nodded and kissed his forehead.
“Waffles!” Noel squealed and Elijah smiled.
“Yes. And bacon?”
“You know it!”
Noel smiled and kicked his feet about as he ate.
“Mama’ says if I eat all my food I will be strong like you, papalijah!”
“Okay. I will be just like you!”
Elijah found himself taken aback.
“What does birthday mean?”
“It is the day in which you were first came into this world.”
“Mama’ says I’m having a birthday.”
“That you are… and what would you like for your birthday?”
Noel looked to his father with confusion. Elijah smiled.
“You tend to get presents and a big cake on this day.”
“It would seem so.”
“I can have anything I want?”
Noel frowned on this.
“What it is?”
“I don’t know what I want…”
Elijah couldn’t help but to chuckle.
“I’m sure you’ll think of something.”
“Wait… I know what I want!”
“And what would that be?”
Elijah observed as Noel climbed on down and entered the living room. He came back with yesterday’s paper. He opened it and pointed to a necklace in the jewelry section.
“Mama’ would like that!”
Elijah looked upon his son in disbelief, yet with a touch of pride.
“That’s very kind of you, thinking of your mother like that.”
Noel smiled and kept looking at the jewelry section.
“But I think she’d agree on picking something that’s just for you.”
“Me?” Noel questioned looking baffled.
“Well yes. It is your birthday after all.”
“But this is what I want…”
Elijah came to his feet and picked Noel up. He placed him on the kitchen counter and lifted his chin with his fingers.
“Just like your mother… Always putting others first. You’ve no idea how proud that makes me. So here’s the deal, we’ll get your mother that necklace and you can give it to her. But in return… I want you to look around and show me what YOU would like for YOUR birthday. Something that says Noel. Understood?”
“Okay. We can do that!”
“Good deal. Now let’s get you cleaned up and we can head on out.”
“We shall return shortly.” Elijah said after pecking his wife on the lips.
“Oh?” She questioned as she was in the bath.
“I’m taking Noel into town.”
“He’ll love that.”
“He still likes the carousel, right?”
“Oh yeah. That’s his favorite. Just make certain it’s the white horse.”
Elijah smiled on this.
“You enjoy a little you time. I’ve your favorite wine in the pantry.”
“Awesome! Thanks! Love you!”
“Love you too!” He called on the way out.
“No papalijah, it this one! The blue one!” Noel said while pointing to the necklace in the jewelry case.
Elijah walked on over and nodded. He knew his wife would throw a fit if she saw the price. Not that Elijah minded. If anything, he loved having Noel as an excuse to shower her with gifts. She wasn’t materialistic by any means. But she held anything he or Noel got her in high regards.
“I can’t think of anything more perfect, Noel.”
Noel smiled as his father waved the sales associate over. Noel stuck his tiny hand into his pocket and handed his father a wad of money.
“Unnik gives me money if I be nice and quiet.”
Elijah reared back on this. He counted the money and it was forty-six dollars.
“I was going to get ice cream but I no want cavi…” Noel sighed and tried again.
“Cavi… Grrr. I don’t know the word…” He uttered in frustration.
“Yes! That! I no want that.”
“Something tells me cavities aren’t a concern.”
“Mama’ says if I eat too much sweets I will get BIG holes in my teeth and I would look funny.”
If only Noel knew he couldn’t get cavities as a hybrid. But Elijah wasn’t about to go against his wife’s wishes and play devil’s advocate.
“Yes well, I suppose we can’t have that, now can we?”
Noel giggled on this and Elijah smiled. The sales associate retrieved the necklace as Elijah pointed it out. He looked to his son afterward.
“How about the earrings to match?”
Noel’s eyes lit up on this and he nodded. Elijah gestured upon the matching earrings as well.
“Mama’ will love them!”
“That she will.”
The woman cut Elijah an odd glance as he handed Noel’s money over. He gave a mere nod not wanting to hurt his son’s feelings. He put the difference on his card then handed the items over.
“Don’t lose those.”
“I won’t! Promise!”
“Now we had a deal, remember?”
Noel nodded but sighed as they looked around the mall.
“I no like anything.”
“What about that place?” Elijah pointed to a local toy store.
Noel shrugged as they headed inside.
“See anything you like?”
“I don’t know…” Noel uttered with a touch of a frown.
“I have that and that… And unckol bought me that. And auntie Bek bought me that over there. I no want anything else.”
Elijah let out a sigh of mere frustration.
“Noel, son… I really need you to think of something you’d like.”
Noel frowned on this.
“I no need anything. But I do like cake! Chocolate with strawberries like mama’ makes!”
“I’m more than certain we can arrange that.”
“Why does mama’ cry about me having a birthday?”
Elijah drew back the deepest of breaths. Once again his son was entirely too intuitive and at times that concerned Elijah. But he felt the need to be perfectly honest. It’s what Noel deserved…
“It’s not about you having a birthday, Noel. Your mother’s concern has to do with other matters…”
“Like what uncnik says?”
“And what does he say?”
“That mama’ is sad because I am older than I should be… But I no understand. I no mean to hurt mama’, papalijah.”
Once again… Elijah found himself in a daze when it came to Noel. He was so much like his mother, it was uncanny. Though Noel had a lot of Elijah’s mannerisms, when it came to friends and family he was his mother through and through.
“I know you don’t and so does your mother.”
A couple of girls walked past and Noel’s eyes went black as he breathed them in. Elijah was quick to react by scooping him up. He rushed him into the bathroom and retrieved a blood bag from his jacket.
“More please.” Noel said once he drained the bag.
Elijah nodded and handed him another. Noel drained that one as well but still had that ‘hunger’ in his eyes. The Original bit down on his wrist and put it to Noel’s mouth.
“Better?” He questioned once Noel fed to his heart’s content.
Noel nodded but had that guilt-ridden look in his eyes.
“We talked about this, didn’t we?”
He nodded but looked to the ground. Elijah lifted his chin and looked him in the eyes.
“You’ve done nothing wrong. What you’re feeling is only natural. It’s who you are. As long as you do what your mother and I have taught you; you will be fine, Noel.”
“Do I make you sad too, papalijah?”
Elijah tilted his head on this.
“Why would you think such a thing?”
“If I make mama’ sad… then I make you sad too.”
“Noel, if there’s one thing I know for certain. It’s that you have NEVER made your mother sad, or myself for that matter. If anything, you brightened up our lives and have made us ALL very happy.”
Noel smiled but still had that touch of sadness.
“What your mother’s experiencing is what any mother or parent for that matter would. She’s merely concerned for your wellbeing. But that hasn’t anything to do with you personally. Like you… we haven’t any control of the situation and that’s the part that makes us sad. We wish for you to remain a child for as long as you can.”
“You no want me to grow up?”
“One day… yes. You’ll make a fine gentleman. I just know it. But at the moment, we just want you to enjoy being a child.”
“Okay. I can do that!”
Elijah brushed the boy’s hair back and smiled.
“Good deal. Now let’s see about that gift of yours.”
“May I go to the carousel after?”
“You surely may.”
“I want the white horse.”
“And why the white?” Elijah asked with curiosity.
“It’s my favorite!”
Bella opened the pantry and smiled as she saw the wine and beside it was a single red rose. She picked up the rose and breathed it in. She grabbed her favorite wine glass then headed upstairs with the rose and bottle of wine. Bella kicked back on the bed and opened the bottle. She breathed in the contents and went to pour herself a glass, only to find herself drinking straight from the bottle. Her eyes widened as she started to choke but no matter what she did, she couldn’t pry the bottle from her lips. She couldn’t scream or cry for help as the contents scorched the inside of her mouth and on down her throat. Tears streamed down her face as she drank the entire bottle and her body started to spasm.
“It’s quite alright. We’ve plenty of time.”
“Can we go to the carousel now?”
Elijah nodded as Noel was pointing towards the area leading that way. Noel took his father by the hand and practically dragged him out the door. They waited until the carousel came to a stop and Noel darted on over to his favorite horse. Just as Elijah was to lift him up and place him on the horse, a little girl approached the same horse. Noel stopped his father and looked to the little girl.
“You want the white horse too?”
She nodded with a quivery lip and Noel smiled.
“It’s my favorite.” He said whilst petting it.
“Mine too.” The girl shyly admitted.
Noel gave a mere nod and looked to the horse then back to the girl.
“Ladies get first choice. So you can have the horse.”
Elijah raised his brows on this. The little girl smiled and Noel gestured for his father to place her on instead. Elijah placed the girl onto the horse and Noel took the black horse beside it.
“We could wait for the next round…” Elijah offered and Noel smiled.
“It’s okay. She really wanted the horse. I no want her to cry.”
“Noel, that was very noble of you.”
“Yes. Like I stated already… You’ll make a fine gentleman one day.”
“Mama’ says there is no better gentleman than you, paplijah.”
“I’m afraid you have me beat.”
Noel giggled on this and Elijah sent him a wink.
“I know what I want for my birthday now.”
“A white horse but a real one!”
Elijah stared off into space and cleared his throat.
“Ask your mother…”
“Can I give it to her now?!”
Elijah smiled on this.
“I don’t see why not.”
Noel smiled in return.
“Mama’?!” He called as they entered the manor.
“We got you something mama’!”
Elijah narrowed his eyes sensing that something was ‘off’.
“Isabella?” He called as Noel rushed on up the stairs.
“MAMA’!!!” Noel screamed on top of lungs.
Elijah bolted into the bedroom where they were. Bella was lying on the floor with the bottle of wine Elijah had set aside for her. Her eyes were rolled into the back of her head and she’d foam running out the sides of her mouth. Her body spasmed in response to whatever had taken place.
“Owwwie!” Noel cried as the contents of the bottle splashed up against him when he went to shake his mother awake.
“Don’t touch that!!” Elijah snapped in a panic and was quick to get Noel to safety.
“But mama’!” Noel wailed.
Elijah rid of the bottle and anything remaining. He bit down on his wrist and put it to Bella’s mouth.
“Come on, Isabella. Drink.”
“Mama’!” Noel cried.
Elijah squeezed his wrist so that a good amount spilled into her mouth. He let out a breath of relief as she finally came to.
“Mama’…” Noel whimpered and Elijah waved him over.
Noel nodded and went on to hug her. Elijah used his kerchief to clean her face.
“Elijah?” She uttered in misperception.
He gave a mere nod but wondered how vervain got into the wine and a heavy dose at that. How did she consume so much? It should’ve burned the moment it came into contact. She’d ingested so much there was still smoke rising from where it burned her.
“Noel, do you remember where we keep the supply?”
“Can you get your mother a few bags?”
The boy nodded and took off. Within seconds he returned with a couple handfuls.
Noel nodded but looked on in apprehension as Elijah helped his mother.
They looked over to see Klaus peering into the room. Noel looked upon his uncle then pointed to his mother.
“Uncnik, someone hurt my mama’!” He said with a touch of anger.
Klaus tilted his head on this and entered the room. Elijah placed another bag into Bella’s mouth.
“That doesn’t make sense…”
Elijah nodded in agreement.
“What tis vervain?” Noel questioned.
His father went on to explain the best he could and Noel nodded.
“Why someone give my mama’ that?”
Klaus and Elijah exchanged glances on this.
“Why don’t we let papalijah finish up?”
“I no leave my mama’.” Noel made clear.
“Noel…” Bella managed to say but with a raspy voice.
“I’m okay. I promise.”
Noel’s bottom lip quivered.
“I no like you hurt!”
Bella pulled him into her arms. She closed her eyes then kissed his forehead.
“Noel baby, I want you to go with uncnik. Your father and I will be there shortly.”
“Okay…” He said in defeat.
“I love you, mama’.”
“I love you too, baby.”
Klaus gave Bella a simple nod as she handed Noel off. Elijah waited until they were out of the room.
“So what happened?”
“I’m not even sure…” She replied whilst reaching to her head.
Elijah scooped her up then placed her on the bed. Bella went on to tell him about the wine and the effect it had on her. This had the original recoiling in response.
“You could’ve told me the wine was laced with vervain.” She scoffed but in a jesting manner.
Elijah shook his head and went on to fully check her over.
“But you’re alright now?” He questioned with concern.
“Yeah… Just a little weak and my throat still has a bit of a sting to it.”
He handed his wife another blood bag and caressed her cheek as she drank.
“Poor Noel. I can’t even imagine how scary that must’ve been for him.”
Elijah nodded in thought.
“My apologies… I sensed that something was wrong. I should’ve stopped him.”
“Elijah. Don’t. I mean it. As much as I want to protect him from situations like these, I know that’s not always feasible.”
Bella drew back the deepest of breaths.
“I suppose it’s time for a family talk?”
Elijah nodded in agreement.
“Let me shower and we’ll…”
“Davina…” Elijah randomly sneered.
Bella narrowed her eyes on this.
“This had to of been her doing…” He uttered looking beyond peeved.
“What did she think she’d accomplish? My blood runs through your and Noel’s very veins!”
Bella swallowed back as his eyes went black and his hands were balled into fists.
“So you’re saying she put the vervain in the wine?”
“No worse. She went as far as to put a hex on you. Childish when you truly think about it! She knows of the ties in which you hold. This was nothing more than a test! That’s the reason behind you consuming so much!”
“I think it’s time Davina and I had a little one on one.” Bella expressed and Elijah sighed.
“Isabella, you’ve to be very careful around witches. Especially, ones such as Davina. She’s juvenile and set in her ways.”
“Yeah well, I can be a real bitch and I’m just as set in mine.”
Elijah raised his brows as she went on to get undressed and stepped into the shower. As she showered he grabbed his mother’s grimoire and flipped through it.
“The black one…” Elijah uttered as he continued in his reading.
Bella peered out from the closet.
“How do you do that?!” She questioned as she’d two dresses in hand.
He gave a mere smile and closed the grimoire.
“Black it is…” She said with a shrug.
Elijah appeared behind her and went on to zip it for her.
He nodded and kissed along her shoulder.
“Breathtaking, as always.” He said whilst looking upon their reflection.
“Well I agree but not everything’s about you, Elijah.”
He chuckled on this. Bella made her way down the stairs and started to call to her son. She froze however and looked on in downright shock. Elijah caught wind of what she was seeing and he snapped his bother a look of absolute hell. Before Elijah could even act, Bella had Noel and was rushing into his room.
“STAY!” She ordered and Noel’s bottom lip quivered.
The boy jumped as his mother slammed the door shut.
“What were you thinking?!” Elijah scolded as he had Klaus by the throat and up against the wall.
He was ripped right out of his hold.
“YOU LET MY SON FEED FROM A VEIN?!” Bella shouted as she’d the poker from the fire place in Klaus’s gut.
He let out an agonizing groan as she twisted the poker and jammed it in even more. Elijah checked the woman over then shook his head as he went on to compel her and sent her about her way. The woman was an employee of theirs.
Bella heard and she closed her eyes in response. Bella dropped her hold then took a few steps back. She looked upon her son and her heart sank as he’d this fearful look in his eyes.
“Why you hurt uncnik?”
Elijah flinched on this.
“I…” Bella started to say but was at a loss for words as she couldn’t get over the look on her son’s face.
She took a step towards him and he backed away from her. Bella swallowed back with this defeated presence.
“Noel, baby. I would NEVER hurt you.”
Noel stood behind his father and hid his face.
“What have you done, Niklaus?” Elijah questioned after Bella took off.
“Find her and fix this, AT ONCE!”
The young vampire gave a mere nod and the blonde stepped aside allowing her in.
“I’m sorry. I know it’s late.”
“No. Don’t be. Are you alright?”
Bella shook her head and leaned over the counter.
“You know that ‘day’ we talked about… The one I feared?”
The woman recoiled and Bella nodded.
“The look on his face…” Bella said with a hand over her gut.
The woman grabbed a bottle of vodka.
“Come on…” She encouraged and seated Bella on the couch.
She handed the bottle over and Bella took a decent plunge. She let out a miserable laugh directly after. But that laughter turned into tears.
“Shhh…” The blonde said as she held her and let her cry it out.
“Well. Well. What do we have here? My favorite girls caught in a very riveting embrace…”
The women snapped a look that direction and Klaus cut them a wink.
“Please. Do go on. Do not let me disturb you.”
“Go fuck yourself.” Bella called.
“Come now, Camille… Where’s your sense of adventure?”
Klaus walked on over and squeezed his way in. He wrapped his arms around their shoulders then propped his feet onto the coffee table.
“So the little wifey is seeking a little therapy? Touching.”
Bella went to elbow him and Camille gasped out as he suddenly had Bella pinned to the couch.
“Klaus!” Camille scolded and he held up a hand.
“Just let me get through to my sweet sweet sister-in-law. First off… He was going to feed from a vein eventually. There was no stopping that. Second… You have to stop coddling the boy and let him be what he truly is! Now third… Don’t you ever pull something THAT incredibly foolish again.”
Bella reversed the pin and he let out a painful groan as she’d her knee in his crotch.
“He is MY son. Therefore, I will decide when he feeds and how! And I’m not coddling him he’s still a boy. He’s not even a year old yet. You let me have this, you cocky son of a bitch. Let me have what little time is left! Call it foolish! Call it whatever you want. But he’s my son and his childhood is flashing right before my eyes. So don’t you even begin in telling me how to raise him!”
Bella looked to Camille apologetically.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have come”
“Not so fast.” Klaus uttered with a grunt as he knocked Bella to the ground and kept her pinned down.
“My little nephew and dear brother await you back home. Don’t keep them waiting. There’s plenty of time for self-wallowing.”
“My son won’t even look at me, thanks to you!”
“So it’s my fault you went all bitch-mode, love?”
“YESSS!” Camille and Bella chorused.
Klaus cocked a brow upon Camille.
“You weren’t even there.”
“Oh no need. I can imagine.” She scoffed and Klaus smiled in response.
Elijah lifted his head as he’d Noel in his lap. He nodded upon his wife as she inched her way over. Elijah patted the other side of his lap. Once she was within reach he brought them both against his chest and kissed their foreheads.
“I’m sorry, mama’…” Noel said with a quivery lip.
“Noel, you haven’t anything to be sorry for.”
“But I was hungry and got uncnik in trouble.”
“Uncnik got himself into trouble.” Elijah clarified.
“I no hurt her mama’, honest. Uncnik said so!”
“I know you didn’t, Noel. But there are rules and it’s very important that you follow them. Despite what your uncle says. Papalijah and I are your parents and we have the final say in how things are done.”
“Is that why you hurt him?”
Elijah drew back a breath on this and Bella sighed. Elijah cupped Noel’s chin then looked him in the eyes.
“Your mother did what she did in order to set Niklaus straight.”
“But how I handled it was wrong.” Bella made clear.
“It could’ve been handled differently…” Elijah agreed.
“But your mother meant well. In all honesty Noel there isn’t much that can hurt your uncle. So it only seemed much worse than it truly was. Niklaus is fine and will be. Your mother wouldn’t truly go out her way to hurt family.”
“But he had a hole in his tummy…” Noel said with a frown.
“Yes but that hole is long gone and he is right as rain.”
“It was a big one. Mama’ was really mad.”
“That she was. But she’d every reason to be. She loves you, Noel. And she meant well. She will always put you first. Just as any mother should. I want you to take pride in that. Not every child can say that.”
“You love me don’t you mama’?” Noel said with a wide grin.
“More than you’ll ever know. You and your father mean the world to me. So when someone goes out their way to hurt one of you I tend to go a little crazy.”
“A little?” Elijah teased and Noel giggled.
“Can I give mama’ her present now?”
Bella looked upon her husband in wonder.
“I believe now’s the perfect time.”
Noel smiled and crawled on out of his father’s lap. He headed up stairs but returned within a flash.
“For you mama’!”
He handed his mother a blue velvet jewelry box. Bella opened the box and her jaw dropped.
“I pick it all by myself but papalijah got the earrings.”
Inside was the infinity sapphire necklace with earrings to match.
“Noel, it’s beautiful.” She said with a tearful smile.
“I know. Paplijah says that’s your birth stone!”
“Put them on mama’!”
Bella smiled and put on the earrings as Elijah helped with the necklace.
“Thank you, Noel.”
“You is welcome!”
“You are welcome…” Elijah corrected.
“Oh yes. You ARE welcome.”
“I’m going to go play now.”
His parents nodded as he headed into his room. Bella sighed as she ran her fingers along the necklace.
“So undeserving of this right now…”
“Hardly.” Elijah uttered in disagreement.
He spun her around so that she was facing him.
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving. You’re being too hard on yourself. It’s like you said… We can’t keep Noel sheltered forever. We knew this was coming and it’ll only continue from here. All we can do is steer him the right direction. Teach him right from wrong and from there… It’s his decision.”
Elijah ran his fingers along the necklace in thought.
“As for things being his decision… I think he’s on the right path already. He’s quite intuitive for his age and like his mother – self-sacrificing. I told Noel to pick out whatever he wanted for his birthday. You know what he picked out?”
Bella shook her head in question.
“This...” He said while tapping his finger along the necklace.
“He picked me out a gift for HIS birthday?!”
“Yes and he was quite adamant in what he wanted. So much so he’d already thought about getting you that necklace as it was marked in yesterday’s paper.”
Bella looked to her husband in disbelief.
“You had him pegged when you named him. Noel has a gift. Something no Mikaelson has had before. Through him we’ve managed to keep this family together and for the past year or so we’ve been at peace, at least amongst one another. As I’ve told you once before. That is a rarity and I haven’t any doubt that’s Noel’s doing. He takes after you. He needs very little in order to make him happy. Now, I know you’ve never been one for expensive jewelry or the finer things in life. But I do these things because you are deserving and you deserve the only the best. You’ve accused me of spoiling you. And now it seems as if our son has picked up on that as well. But can’t you see…? He only sees what I do – A mother that goes out and beyond for him and this family. We only wish to do the same in return. So if it’s sending you flowers from time to time or getting you little pretties to wear, then so be it. I only wish we could do more.”
“Elijah, you’ve already given me everything I could ever want. As to our son… I think he takes after you more than me.”
“So mama’ got mad cause she told you no but you do it anyway?”
“In a way…” Klaus said with a bit of a smirk.
“So you no do what you’re told and mama’ go ROARRR!”
Klaus had a good laugh at this.
“Yes. It seems as if your mother has a dreadful temper, such a nasty habit.”
“Papalijah says you do too!”
“Oh he does now, does he?”
“He say you go ROOOARRRR like mama’ and he has to give you time out!”
The irony wasn’t lost on Klaus. A fight with Elijah always ended with them drinking. Noel gets in trouble, he was sent to his room with a juice box.
“Yes. It seems as if I’ve given Niklaus lots of time outs over the years.” Elijah piped in as he entered the living area.
Noel giggled on this.
“So uncnik is always in trouble?”
“Any word on Davina?”
Elijah nodded as he handed Noel a cookie.
Noel crawled into Klaus’s lap and offered him a bite of his cookie. Klaus let out a small growl and took a bite. Noel giggled.
“And the French Quarter?”
“Under its rightful king…”
“Good deal. Keep an eye on Marcel. He’ll lead us to Davina eventually.”
“May I have another cookie?”
“You certainly may.”
“And where is the lovely mama’?”
“She went to the store!”
“Did she now?”
“Yes. She wants to surprise auntie Bek with a BIG Thanksgiving.”
This had Elijah and Klaus looking over in surprise. Noel looked to his father wide-eyed.
“It’s supposed to be a secret…”
“Your secret is safe with us.” Elijah said with a warm smile.
“Bekah?” Bella called as she answered the phone.
“Are you alone?”
“Well yeah… I’m at the store. Why?”
“Okay. So I’m going to need you to come up with something to tell Elijah and be on the first plane out.”
“To Mystic Falls.”
Bella had a good laugh at this.
“Oh if only I were joking, love.”
“What are you up to now, Rebekah?”
“Look, just do me this solid and I’ll owe you one. Just whatever you do… DON’T let my brothers in on this.”
“You’re fucking kidding me, right?”
“Bella, please. I’m begging and you know I’m not one to beg. But I really need your help.”
“Jesus… And just what do you expect me to tell Elijah? I can’t very well lie to him!”
“Just tell him you got some old business to handle back in Forks. It’s not that far off anyhow.”
“That’s a lie, Bekah! And you know how I feel about that!”
“Couldn’t you just let your morals go?! Just this once?!”
“So you’re on your way?!”
“I’m going to kill you. You know that, right?”
“I’ll be waiting!”
