Chapter 53 – Hold On To Memories
“Ye look beautiful, darlin’.” Chibs complimented while pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“Thank you, Scotty. Not so bad yourself.”
“Coffee?” Chibs offered.
“Nah, I’m a wee bit nauseous. I don’t wanna press it.”
“Drink ye some water,” Chibs uttered while handing her a bottle of pills.
“What are these?”
“Prenatal vitamins. It’s good for the babies.”
“How many do I take?”
“Just the one a day, pet.”
Aislinn nodded then popped a pill into her mouth. Chibs handed his wife a glass of water to wash it down with.
“Ye got yer first therapy session tomorrow.”
“Aye. That’ll be fun.” She sarcastically put, and Chibs smiled.
“Hey, just one step closer ta gettin’ that brace permanently removed.”
“Ye shouldn’t need those crutches much longer either.” He said while taking them from her hold.
He propped them up against the bar then sat her down in one of the chairs.
“I think it might be best if I ate after the funerals.”
Chibs nodded in agreement.
“Aye, just never thought I’d use that word in a plural setting.” She sadly murmured.
“That makes two of us darlin’.”
“Was Juice gay?”
Chibs looked around the clubhouse before answering that.
“Nah, I don’t believe so. I’m guessin’ ye caught onta that, em…?” Her husband softly hinted, and Aislinn nodded.
“I was gonna say he hid it pretty well. I would’ve never guessed.”
“Well, he wasn’t, darlin’.”
“So, Clay…” She hadn’t the heart to finish that sentence.
“Aye well, ye’ve been there.”
“But I survived.” Aislinn sadly murmured.
“It isn’t right, Scotty. Juice… he didn’t deserve that.”
“He was tryin’ to tell me. He…” Aislinn pinched her eyes shut and Chibs ran a soothing hand along her shoulder.
“Ali, if there’s one thing I know about Juice… He wouldn’t have any regrets. He protected you because he wanted to.”
Aislinn nodded, and Chibs grabbed a tissue from a box of Kleenexes by the bar. He handed it over, and Aislinn dabbed her tears away.
“Don’t ye go and feel guilty over somethin’ ye had no control over. Juice wouldn’t want that. Ye understand me?”
“I’m tryin’. I just keep picturin’ that day.”
Chibs nodded then dug into his cut. He placed a cigarette into his mouth, and Aislinn slapped it out of his mouth.
“ALI!” Chibs scolded when the cigarette broke in half and landed on the ground.
“Ya heard what the doctor said!”
“Aye, well I’m just fine now. I can smoke.”
“It hasn’t been two months yet! Ya wanna bitch about two months?! I gotta go seven!” Aislinn reminded, and Chibs sighed in thought.
“Two months, Scotty. You can do it!”
Chibs incoherently grumbled under his breath, and Aislinn gave a tearful snort.
“Such a grump ye are!”
“Aye, I need my cancer sticks!”
“Callin’ them that isn’t goin’ to help matters.”
“Alright, we’ll compromise.”
“Aye…” Chibs leaned into her ear.
“Everytime I need a smoke ye can smoke me pole…”
Aislinn covered her mouth in laughter.
“Ya want me to give you head every time ya feel the need to smoke.”
“Aye! It’s a great distraction. I won’t even think about smokin’ if yer blowin’ me.”
“Scotty, you go through half a pack a day, at least!”
“I don’t see the point.”
“Do ya want me livin’ in this brace? Cause that’s what’s goin’ to happen if I go and give ya head ten to fifteen times a day.”
“Alright, ye can mix it up a little…”
“Aye, there’s also handjobs and rides.”
“Ya just keep on dreamin’, Scotty.”
Chibs reached out and caressed her cheek in thought.
“Guess we better head on to the cemetery.”
Aislinn nodded while looking to the time.
“Did Neeta have any family?”
“I don’t believe so. Jackie went through everythin’ he could find, and she didn’t seem to have any ties to anyone other than us. I suppose that’s why she was so close to Abel.”
“That’s kind of sad.”
“It is… But at least she wasn’t completely alone, darlin’.”
“Ye should bring yer guitar.”
“To the service?”
“Aye. Ali love, I think everyone could use a little pick me up, and I can’t think of a better way ta send our loved ones off.”
“I’ll have to call Riona. She has it.”
“Actually, it’s here…” Chibs scampered off then returned with her guitar in hand.
“I might be a wee bit rusty, love.”
“I doubt that and even if ye are… I wanna hear ye either way.”
“Em?” Riona hummed.
“Why’s you cutting daddy’s hair?!”
Jax chuckled at his son’s struck stupid expression.
“Because daddy has a big ole goose egg and he looked kind of funny since Uncle Chibs shaved part of his head when he gave him his stitches.”
Abel nodded as he used a chair to climb up on the counter. He watched his mother as he poured himself a bowl a cereal.
“Can I has mine cut too?”
“You want me to cut your hair?”
“Yeah, I wants it just like daddy’s!”
“I can do that. But you have to promise you’ll hurry and get ready afterward.”
“I promise. I got my suit ready on the bed!”
“Is today when we say goodbye to Neeta?”
“And Piney, Juice, and Rat.” His father added, and Abel looked to be in thought.
“But no grandpa Clay and no grandma cause they no family.”
“I kind of miss grandma but only when she nice. I no like her mean.”
Abel ate his cereal while his mother trimmed his father’s hair.
“It really short!” Abel said once his mother was done.
“Aye, but it’ll grow back.”
Jax shook the hair off his body then stripped down to his boxers in the kitchen. Abel laughed when his mother scolded his father for tracking hair into the living room.
Abel smiled and was quick to finish his cereal. He hopped down from the table and darted on over.
Abel giggled and took a seat in the chair his father sat in.
“I’s gonna be just like daddy!”
“Ya sure are! Now I need ya to stay still.”
Riona took extra precaution as she cut their son’s hair.
“I no like the hair in my face. It tickle, mommy. It get up my nose!” He said with a funny snort.
Riona laughed at his reaction.
“I’m just about done. Ya can hop in the shower and wash it all off!”
Riona dusted him off once she finished then watched as he headed for the shower. She sighed at the mess, knowing she had to hurry and clean that up before she herself got ready. She was using a dustpan to dump the hair into the kitchen trash when her cellphone sounded.
“Linny?” She answered, seeing as how it was her sister.
“Are ya at the house still?”
“Aye, haven’t even dressed yet!”
“What’d ya need?”
“Nothin’. Just bring your guitar.”
“Aye, I’ll explain when I see ya.”
“Alright… See you soon.”
Aislinn’s jaw dropped the moment she saw the line of motorcycles formed in the street. A couple deputies were at the lead. Indian Hills, as well as SAMBEL and a few other charters, had shown up.
“I’ve never seen such a thing,” Aislinn whispered, and her husband nodded as they got in line.
“Aye, it’s a big thing with us MC’s.”
“Never been to an MC funeral…” Aislinn said.
“Aye, I imagine a few of em will stay for a couple days or so. We’ll get together at the clubhouse after the service.”
“Have ya thought about what you’re goin’ ta sing?” Chibs curiously questioned as the deputies made certain everyone was on track and out of the way of oncoming traffic.
“I believe so.”
“Ye gonna tell me?”
Chibs chuckled in response.
“Fair enough darlin’.”
“I hope Riona and Jax make it in time.”
Chibs cocked a brow on this.
“Riona said she wasn’t even dressed when I called.”
“I imagine Jax is plannin’ on showin’ up last. He has an odd way of doin’ things, but it works.”
Aislinn scooted over then snuggled up against her husband. Chibs wrapped his arm around her as they waited.
“Sorry, ya couldn’t be on your bike, Scotty.”
“Aye now, as much as I love that bike, I dig this a lot more.” He said before pecking her on the cheek.
“I meant because all the other men are…”
“Don’t bother me none, love. I can always ride with them later.”
Forty minutes passed before the line started moving. The deputies began their escort, and Chibs laughed when he saw Jax squeeze in behind him. He was on his motorcycle and Riona was in the truck with Abel.
“Told ya. It’s a Jackie thing…” Chibs muttered, and Aislinn laughed once she saw the president through the rearview mirror.
“Will we even all fit?!” Aislinn questioned when they arrived at the cemetery.
“Oh yeah, we’ve had bigger ones. Ye should’ve been here for Thomas and JT’s. Ye think this is big.”
“I can only imagine.”
“Hold on…” Chibs softly put after parking the truck.
He stepped on out, then walked around. He grabbed her crutches from the back, then opened her door.
“Grounds a bit soft, so be careful,” Chibs warned as it had rained the night before.
“Chibs?! Aislinn?!” They heard and turned to see Padriac heading their way with Keith.
Padriac took off at a sprint and hugged Aislinn first. Chibs shook his head on this.
“Sorry, Uncle Filip but she’s a lot prettier!” Padriac teased.
“Can’t blame ye, I suppose.” He uttered while giving Keith a firm handshake and hug.
“How you two doin’?” Keith whispered while looking Chibs over.
“Heard what happened… We’re lucky you two aren’t bein’ buried today.” Aislinn recoiled, and Keith sent her an apologetic nod.
“Just bein’ honest, sweetheart. Now get over here and give me a hug!” Keith held his arms out, and Aislinn giggled as she hugged him.
“Clay do this?” Keith rather hinted as to her neck brace and wounded leg.
Aislinn nodded in response, and Keith shook his head in disbelief.
“We should’ve listened to JT. He tried to warn us. So did Jax. I’m sorry. We should’ve done somethin’ sooner, all of us.”
“You can’t do that, Keith. It is what it is, but we’re here now, and this is a new start.” Aislinn reassured.
“That it is. That it is.” Keith uttered while making his way towards Jax and Riona.
Chibs and Padriac were off to the side and in deep conversation about something.
“Hi, Aunt Linny!” Abel excitably put then rushed on over.
Aislinn smiled and showed him that she had Thomas with her.
“That good. Can I holds him?”
“You sure can!”
She handed the dragon over, and Abel hugged her first then the dragon.
“Does the two babies in your tummy grow now?”
“I’m sure they have a wee bit.”
“Is your tummy gonna get REALLY big?”
“I hope not!” She said, and Abel laughed.
“That be funny, Aunt Linny. If you has a belly like Santa Claus.”
“I just might! Then ye’d hafta go and call me Linny Claus or Santa Linny!” She teased, and Abel broke into a fit of giggles.
“Can ya do me a wee favor?”
“Would ya grab my guitar? It’s in the backseat.”
“You brings it?!”
“I sure did! Be careful with it, though.”
“I will. I promise!” Abel said while opening the truck door and peeking into the back where the guitar was.
Abel had the guitar in hand when he saw his mother with hers as well.
“YOU BRINGS YOURS TOO?!” He hollered.
His mother smiled his direction as she and Jax were talking to Keith.
“I did not know that,” Abel said while carefully shutting the truck door and making his way back towards his aunt.
“Does you want to sits with me, Aunt Linny?”
“I sure do.” She said, and Abel escorted her towards Piney’s plot.
Everyone’s ashes would be buried at their respectful plots, but the Son’s decided it best to meet up at Piney’s since he was an original. They would hold service for everyone there.
“Hey there, beautiful.” Keith greeted, then hugged Riona.
“And here I was thinking you meant me,” Jax said in mockery and Keith chuckled.
“How do ya know I didn’t?” He uttered with a wink Jax’s direction.
He hugged Jax afterward then caught up on everything that had taken place. Keith couldn’t believe his ears when he learned everything Clay had done. He knew bits and pieces here and there, but Keith hadn’t a clue he’d taken things that far.
“I thought he hated the Nordics…”
“Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess. That man could sell a turd and have everyone believin’ it was pure gold!” Keith declared.
“That’s no lie.”
“Aye well, all that’s over with. I hate that we lost a few along the way, Piney especially. But it’s worth the good fight. I’m proud of you, and I know Piney, your father, and brother are as well.”
“This is just the beginning,” Jax said, and Keith nodded.
“But also, the end. This is your chance, Jax…”
“I know, and I’m taking it.”
“This is what your father and Piney always wanted.”
“I won’t let them down. Their deaths won’t be in vain.”
“I believe in you, we all do. That’s why we’re here. This isn’t just about Piney and Juice. We didn’t know that prospect of yours or the caretaker. We’re here to show our support. None of these other charters would even exist without SAMCRO.”
“He’s right.” Jax heard then spun around.
“Jury!” He greeted with a smile then hugged him close.
“How you doin’, kid?”
“Aye. Wish this gathering was under better circumstances…” Jury sadly murmured.
Jury wrapped his arm around Jax’s shoulder, and they headed towards Piney’s plot. Keith took Riona by the hand and escorted her as well.
“Is that so?” Chibs murmured in mere amusement when Padriac caught him up with everything that was happening in Ireland. It sounded as if Fiona had gone down the prostitution path.
“Aye, I’m guessin’ karma finally caught up to her.” Padriac stated.
“I can’t believe anyone would fuck her, much less pay for it.”
“Right?! Think they put a bag over her head?”
Chibs chuckled in thought.
“Hell, there were times I wanted ta, and that was before I ever scarred her up.”
“Never knew you felt that way.” His nephew admitted.
“Aye, let’s just say things were a little tryin’ durin’ our last year of marriage. It got ta the point where I couldn’t stand ta look at her. That hadn’t anythin’ ta do with her appearance. I think a part of me always knew…”
“Denial does funny things to us.” His nephew murmured in thought.
“That it does.”
“How’s that goin’?” Padriac hinted with a nod towards Aislinn.
Chibs regarded his wife in thought.
“Well, we’ve certainly been tested. But we’re stronger for it. I guarantee no woman in her right mind would’ve stuck around for the utter shite we’ve been through.”
“Are you sayin’ she isn’t sane?!” Padriac taunted.
“Aye, she isn’t! That’s a bonus for me!” Chibs teased, and his nephew died of laughter.
“Seriously, Ali has ta be the most forgivin’ lass I’ve ever known. I fucked up, Padriac. More than I ever imagined I would. But here she is…”
“Somethin’ tells me she’s in for the long haul.”
“I hope so! I done knocked her up and married the lass!”
Padriac’s jaw dropped, and his uncle laughed.
“You don’t waste any time!”
“Ye don’t have time ta waste when it comes ta a lass like that. Ye snatch her up just as soon as ye can and don’t take it for granted once ye do.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Padriac uttered as he and his uncle joined the others.
“Well, aren’t you just the perfect gentleman!” Aislinn complimented when Abel set her crutches down beside her.
He grabbed her guitar from a nearby chair then handed it over.
“Thank you!” She said, and Abel started to sit beside her.
“Hold on, buckaroo.” Chibs murmured, and Abel peered back.
“What are ye doin’ sittin’ next ta me wife?!” Chibs pretended to scold, and Abel giggled.
Abel started for that seat yet again only to have his uncle snatch him up. He took the seat instead but pulled the boy into his lap.
“Does we say goodbye now?” Abel sadly put.
“Aye.” The Scot honestly replied.
“I’s gonna miss Neeta.”
“I know, lad. But yer gonna see her again one day.”
“Piney, Juice, and Rat too?”
“Ye sure will. We’ll all be together again.”
“Hey…” Ethan greeted while sitting between his sisters.
He pecked them both on the cheek. Jax sat on the other side of his wife. The rest of SAMCRO took their seats as well, and everyone else remained standing.
“Ho-ly shit.” Riona heard her husband mutter, in absolute shock.
Jax sprang to his feet and rushed on over to the woman and her two teenage children.
“Who are they?” Aislinn whispered towards her sister.
“Haven’t the faintest!”
Chibs wondered what the sisters were talking about, so he himself took a gander.
“Jaysus.” The Scot whispered just as stunned.
“Who are they?” His wife asked.
“That’s Donna Winston and her two kids Kenny and Ellie.”
“Ya mean Opie’s ex-wife?!” Riona questioned in surprise.
“Aye,” Chibs whispered in return.
“Oh my…” Riona said then watched as Jax made his way over with Donna and the kids.
The Sons made room for the Winstons, considering they were Piney’s immediate family. They weren’t the only ones to show up, however. Opie’s mother (Mary) made an appearance as well but made it clear she didn’t want to sit with anyone. So, she stood off to a more secluded corner and kept to herself.
“This isn’t awkward at all.” Chibs witted towards his wife.
He meant that in the sense that none of them knew about Opie, yet here they were sending Piney off. He wasn’t sure how Jax was going to bite that bullet, but he wouldn’t have a choice now. They were going to wonder where Opie Winston was. The Crow Eaters, as well as the porn stars, also made an appearance. Riona teased her sister about the “entertainment” actually getting dressed for once. Aislinn snorted in thought.
One of the priests from Chibs’s church read a few scriptures from the bible and thus started the service. He said something on behalf of Neeta, Rat, Juice, and Piney. When finished, he nodded Jax’s direction. Jax let go of his wife’s hand then came to his feet. He shook the priest’s hand then stood at the podium. Jax cleared his throat then looked to everyone before him.
“As much as I love everyone being together. I wish it were under different circumstances. I know this is a lot to take in. We’ve lost so many. Please note, we Sons meant no disrespect in having everyone’s services together like this. Honestly, we weren’t sure if we or anyone else could handle four funerals in a row. Like I said, it’s a lot to take in. But I do know one thing…” Jax said while looking at the pictures of Neeta, Piney, Juice, and Rat.
“Each of them would want their lives celebrated. They’d want us to keep their memory alive. Whether those memories make us laugh or cry… That’s how we honor them. I want to tell you how each of them touched my life. I’m gonna start with Neeta…” Jax said while looking at his son.
Abel clung to his Uncle and that dragon of his as he listened to his father.
“Neeta, she had the most contagious laugh I ever witnessed. That woman was always smiling, and that too was infectious. Neeta had a way with children, my son especially. She started out as Abel’s preschool teacher but became so much more. Neeta didn’t have any blood relatives that I know of. I did whatever I could to find someone, anyone, but didn’t have any luck. But she did have family…” Jax waved his hands towards SAMCRO, and each of them nodded in agreement.
“Neeta dedicated her life to my son. No one asked her to do that. All I asked for was a babysitter. But she was so much more than that. I just hope Neeta knows how much she meant to me and my family. She will be greatly missed.”
Chibs was quick to hold and console Abel as the boy burst into tears. Jax and his wife exchanged glances on this. Jax wanted to reach out and hold his son but knew he had too much to cover, and there were too many people. He couldn’t keep them waiting.
Aislinn ran a soothing hand along Abel’s back as his uncle rocked him.
Jax signaled towards Rat’s picture, which was next.
“George Skogstrom was one of our prospects; only we called him Rat. We didn’t know him for long, but we can tell you this much. George was devoted, fearless, and worked like a dog. Like Neeta, George died protecting my son. This man went out a hero. Not many can say that. I will be forever grateful to George and what he did for my son.”
Jax sighed after glancing at Juice’s picture.
“Juice… only some of you know him as Juan Ortiz. First off, each of us Sons owe this man the biggest apology… I’m only sad because we can’t do that in person.” Jax sent Aislinn and Happy regrettable looks.
They too shared that same expression.
“I feel the need to clarify something.” Jax made a gesture towards his sister-in-law.
“If it wasn’t for this woman, Juice wouldn’t have had the proper send-off. Everyone here knows what happens to rats. I know that’s not something you typically bring up at a funeral, but we’re all family here. Everyone knows how the MC life works. I’m not saying this to dishonor Juice, in any way, shape, or form. No. I’m saying this because WE dishonored him!” Jax nodded towards Aislinn.
“This woman not only proved Juice’s innocence, but was willing to fight for him. She wouldn’t let this one go, and I’m thankful each and every day to have her as my sister-in-law. Stubbornness seems to run in the Lawless family. But if it wasn’t for that stubbornness, Juice’s picture wouldn’t be up here today. We wouldn’t be honoring him the way he should’ve been. You see, Juice was caught up in something, something bad. And there’s honestly no telling what all he went through. Juice kept quiet and suffered in silence. He did this because he wanted to keep SAMCRO and our loved ones safe. Aislinn’s alive today because he took a bullet for her. This was after a heated argument between the two, but Aislinn realized something wasn’t right.”
Happy and Ethan were the ones exchanging glances now. Ethan knew Happy had been up damn near all night digging Juice back up. He knew because he hunted Happy down and volunteered to help. But Happy wouldn’t let him. In fact, Happy kicked him out of the area altogether and said this was something he himself had to do, that he owed it to Juice. Happy had him cremated directly after. He barely got everything set up in time for the service.
“What happened to Juice really hurt. He meant a lot to this club. I only wish we could’ve shown him that before it was too late. I know Juice enough to know that whatever he was struggling with was killing him. He loved this club.”
“And we loved him.” Happy stated, and SAMCRO nodded in full agreement.
“That we did. We’re gonna miss you, Juice.”
Jax came to Piney’s picture last. The president was quiet for a few minutes before starting his eulogy.
“Piney Winston…” Jax uttered with a cracking voice.
He cleared his throat, then shook his head.
“I don’t even know where to begin. There’s so much history. I was just a kid when I first met Piney. I was best friends with his son, and I swear I spent more time at his place than my own. Piney was one of those guys that said whatever came to mind. He was NEVER one to hold back. If he thought it, he said it! That’s what I respected and loved most about him. He was a no bull shitter, and he didn’t respect anyone that was. He and my father go way back… Like my father, Piney was an original. One of the first nine!” Keith let out a hoot-like howl on this and Jax smiled.
Keith placed his hand along the area of his heart.
“Keith is the last of our original nine. They were the founders of SAMCRO. They believed in my father and his vision, his dream. And they stood behind my father when Clay stood against him. They never stopped believing. They never stopped the fight. They encouraged me every step of the way. One of the last things Piney ever said to me was to see this through, no matter what it took. I can only hope I made him, my father, and my brother proud. And I hope I continue in making them proud. I want to do right by Piney, JT, and Thomas. Hell, I want to do right by me and all of my family.” Jax gestured towards everyone there.
“You guys are my family, each and every one of you. Even if we don’t always agree or see eye to eye. There is history, love, respect… Piney retired because he couldn’t stand what the club had become. There were other factors, but that was the main one. He couldn’t stand to see everything falling apart. We were turning against one another; all it did was bring back that dreadful past. Piney knew what was coming and he couldn’t bear to witness that all over again. I’m here to tell you that Piney, Juice, Rat, and Neeta’s lives weren’t taken in vain. Give me just a few years, and I will show you the vision my father had. I give you all my word. I will lead us all that direction. All I need is your faith… This…” Jax waved towards the pictures of their loved ones.
“Never again, not on my watch, not on Chibs’s, not on Keith’s, Seamus’s, Jury’s, Gaine’s.” Jax named off a few more presidents and their VP’s from other charters.
“No. Today we stand here, as one. I want every one of you to look at these four. I want everyone to keep these faces in mind every time you feel the need to stray and do things the old way. I want you to picture the look on my father and brother’s faces. What would they say about you pissing all this away, stepping all over their graves, and my father’s legacy? I can tell you this much. I will fight you. First one to stray will have to deal with me directly. And believe me when I say I’ve put up one hell of a fight already. Come at me and see where it gets you. These are the ones I’m fighting for, and I won’t back down. I will never back down.” Jax said with tears streaming down his face.
Happy stopped the priest as he was headed for the podium. Happy placed another picture beside Piney’s, and Aislinn clamped a hand over her mouth. Happy didn’t utter a word as he made his way to the podium.
“I told Jax I wanted to cover this one.” Happy softly put.
“Now I’m not going to sugar coat this shit. It ain’t my style, and I’m not about to dishonor my old man by making up a bunch of lies either. I hated this son of a bitch. All he did was make my upbringing a living hell. All I remember is Otto running around on my mother and emptying her bank account. But there is one thing I can say with pride. My father LOVED this fucking club. He might’ve betrayed me and my mother. But he wouldn’t betray this club if his life depended on it. He too was an original and towards the end… He wanted what JT wanted. He wanted things cleaned up. He wanted us, Sons, to live like a real MC. But he didn’t feel that way when Clay ran things. Neither did I when I was first patched in.” Happy apologetically looked to his president.
“Jax has done nothing but bust our balls. He’s pissed me off more than any other president, which is saying a lot. But he only pissed me off because I was actually doing something. That’s what my father wanted. Towards the end, all Otto wanted was a little peace, not for him, but for the club he loved so much. He believed in Jax. That’s about the only thing my old man ever did right. We gave you hell, boss and we all betrayed you at some point. But if it wasn’t for you… All our pictures would be up here right now. Chibs, Aislinn, Tig, Kip, Riona, Abel, you, and me… All these people would be burying us as well today. So, before any of you even think about blaming our president, I want you to take that into account. This is just a handful of what could’ve been, and Jax couldn’t physically be there to protect everyone, neither could we.”
“Hap’s right…” Chibs called, and Happy nodded his VP’s direction.
“Jackie put up one hell of a fight; we all did.”
“That’s not what this service is about…” Jax muttered looking a bit flustered.
“That’s where yer wrong, Jackie boy. Every one of them would agree. I’m proud of you, and I know everyone here is too. And I mean everyone as in Neeta, Juice, Rat, and Piney… They’re here with us right now, and they couldn’t be prouder.”
“This isn’t just about saying goodbye, Jax. It’s about saying – until we see you again. It’s about the fight ahead, to make certain this amount of casualties doesn’t take place again. This right here is the rude awakening we all needed, and this isn’t even half of what all we truly lost.” Jury added, and everyone nodded in agreement.
“This will be the last time we have to gather for this big of a loss, Jax. We give you our word. Never again. It ends here.” Keith vowed, and each of the Sons howled out in agreement and in celebration.
Riona hugged her husband as he was in tears.
“Now might be a good time, love…” Chibs whispered in his wife’s ear.
Aislinn nodded in agreement. Chibs had Abel lift up just long enough to sit him back down. The VP helped his wife get everything set up then brought forth a couple chairs, so she and Riona had somewhere to sit. Riona picked up on the hint and kissed her husband before joining her sister. Aislinn leaned into her sister’s ear, and her sister smiled.
“Perfect,” Riona whispered.
Riona was first to strum her guitar and Aislinn joined in. They sang the lyrics in unison.
“Hold On To Memories”
The time will come when all of us say goodbye
Feel that aching in your heart
Leaving you broken inside
But we’re never really gone
As long as there’s a memory in your mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
Take the ones you love
And hold them close because there is little time
And don’t let it break your heart
I know it feels hopeless sometimes
But they’re never really gone
As long as there’s a memory in your mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world’s greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
So now go do the best things in life
Bring the fight to this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Shine your light on this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world’s greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world’s greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
“That was beautiful.” Jax was first to say, and the girls smiled his direction.
“Aye, it was,” Chibs uttered looking blown away by his wife’s song choice.
The priest was headed for the podium again, but Jax was quick to stop him.
“I think we’ve said all we’ve needed to say.” He firmly, yet respectfully put.
Jax thought that song was the perfect ending and he didn’t want it ruined by a bunch of biblical nonsense.
“I got it.” Aislinn heard.
She lifted her eyes, and Happy gave a simple nod as he grabbed her crutches and offered Aislinn a hand.
“Thank you.” She softly uttered, and Happy got her situated.
He took the guitar from her hand afterward.
“That was awesome.” He complimented, and Aislinn smiled.
“I gotta admit I damn near teared up.”
“Couldn’t tell. Isn’t that the song you wanted at your own funeral?” Happy questioned and Aislinn couldn’t hide the stunned expression on her face.
“Ya remember that?”
“We were shite-faced, Happy!”
“I remember a lot of things when I’m shit-faced. It’s a gift.” He said while walking her to the truck.
Happy opened the door then placed her guitar in the back.
“Didn’t think you’d want to haul that around.”
Happy looked around the cemetery then back to Aislinn.
“Can I ask you something?” Happy softly questioned.
“Ya sure can.”
“How would you feel if your old man died?”
Aislinn reared back as she hadn’t expected that at all. Happy sighed then pinched his eyes shut.
“I know you get it… You’re the only one that would.”
“Happy…” Aislinn said, and was quick to shield him from everyone else.
Happy was on the verge of a meltdown, and she could see it in his eyes.
“I’d probably feel like you.”
“And how do I feel?”
“Lost, angry, bitter… I wouldn’t know whether to lay flowers down or piss on his fuckin’ grave. Pepper’s come a long way. Just as Otto had… But that doesn’t erase all the hell they put us through.”
“Mind if I kidnap ya for a while?” Happy surprisingly questioned.
“I need out of here.” Happy desperately put.
Happy nodded then propped her against him as he took her crutches and placed them in the back of Chibs’s truck.
Chibs glanced that direction and watched as Happy scooped Aislinn up. He placed her on his bike and handed his helmet over. Chibs hadn’t a clue what to think when Happy waved his direction then drove off with his pregnant wife.
“What was that about?” Jax questioned taking notice as well.
“Have no idea. I don’t like her on that bike when she’s expectin’ though.”
“She’s in good hands.”
“She better be!”
“Relax…” Jax whispered with a comforting hand along Chibs’s shoulder.
“Where’s Harry?” Donna questioned, and this had SAMCRO’s full attention.
Jax sighed as he looked to Kenny and Ellie.
“He couldn’t make it…”
“To his own father’s funeral?!” Donna rather hissed.
“That’s so typical…” She added with a sneer.
“Filip, why don’t you take Ellie and Kenny to the clubhouse? Take Riona and Abel with you.”
“Aye,” Chibs uttered while waving Riona and Abel over.
Jax switched keys with Chibs knowing Chibs wouldn’t have room in his little truck. Jax invited everyone out to the clubhouse and let them know there would be lots of food and booze. The guys howled out in response and Jax gave a simple nod as he took Donna by the arm. He escorted her towards the chairs, then sat her down.
“It’s good to see you, darlin’.”
“Good to see you too, Jax.”
Jax kept the conversation simple, up until everyone else was gone.
“Let me guess. He’s in prison?”
“I take it you didn’t see the news?”
“News?” Donna questioned, and Jax leaned back in thought.
“Donna, Op was in Stockton, but escaped during a riot.”
“Hell, you don’t know the half of it. Donna, Opie wasn’t the same man. I don’t know who he was.”
Donna closed her eyes.
“Past tense…” She whispered.
“Didn’t send him off with Piney…” The president finished, and Donna nodded.
“Like I said, Op wasn’t the same man. Something happened. He snapped and…”
“He hurt someone, didn’t he?”
“Yeah, he hurt quite a few people…” Jax regrettably admitted.
Donna didn’t utter a word as she brought her cellphone out. She accessed her pictures then handed it to Jax.
“That’s Kenny when his father got through with him.”
Jax skimmed through the pictures, and each one had him more and more ill.
“Why didn’t you tell me it was THIS BAD?!”
“Jax, you boys would’ve defended that man no matter what he did. Even with the evidence, you hold in your hand. I know how you felt about him.”
“You honestly think I would defend THIS?! Child abuse?! Come on, Donna! I thought you knew me better than that.”
“You wouldn’t defend his actions, but you would’ve made excuses for him, you always did.”
“Not on this one. Op was on his own.”
“I take it, he told you.”
“Yeah, he told me. He just didn’t…” Jax trailed off then looked to the pictures again.
“How’d he die?”
“Got into it with the Nordics…” Jax hated lying to her like that, but there was no way he could tell Donna the truth. She wasn’t exactly SAMCRO now. If anything, she always resented the club.
Telling her the truth was too risky. She didn’t need to know all that anyhow. All she needed was closure. Jax could give her that much.
Jax hugged her as she teared up a bit.
“I shouldn’t shed a single tear over that bastard!”
“I know the feeling, darlin’.”
“Where’s your mother and Clay?”
“Oh hell, where do I even begin?”
“So, where is he?”
Chibs glanced into the rearview mirror and locked eyes with Kenny.
“Who?” Chibs uncomfortably questioned.
He knew damn well whom Kenny was referring to, but he wasn’t sure what to say to that exactly.
“You know who.”
Chibs sighed in thought.
“I’m sure your mother will explain everythin’ later.”
Kenny let out a rather smug laugh.
“Don’t play that shit with me, man.”
“Kenny!” His sister scolded, and Kenny rolled his eyes.
“I bet he’s dead!”
“Daddy’s dead?” Ellie sadly murmured, and Riona was the one recoiling now.
“You didn’t even know him!” Kenny snapped.
“Yes, I did!” Ellie defended.
“Alright, ye two. Like I said. This is a conversation ye should be havin’ with yer mother.”
“Just fucking tell us, man!”
Chibs shook his head in disbelief. He got that the kid was clearly upset. They just buried their grandfather, and they hadn’t a clue where their father was. But he didn’t like the way this kid was talking to him, not one bit.
“Aye now, watch yer tone, kid.”
“I’m not a kid. I’m eighteen!”
Chibs was taken back by this. Had it truly been that long? That would make Ellie fifteen years old. Time truly flew. Chibs knew these kids when they were still in diapers. Kenny turned into a little asshole. Then again, the kid hadn’t been to Charming since his old man hit him. Ellie, however, was just as sweet as the Scot remembered.
“Alright, then ye can talk with a little more respect.”
“Why? Your MC sure doesn’t!”
“Kenny…” Ellie whispered, looking somewhat embarrassed.
“I’m sorry, Chibs…” She softly uttered, and Chibs forced a smile the girl’s direction.
“Ye don’t hafta apologize, darlin’. I know ye two are goin’ through a lot right now.”
“Don’t pretend to know us. You don’t know shit.”
“He says a lot of bad words,” Abel whispered and his mother nodded.
“He no very nice to Uncle Chibs.”
Kenny laughed when he heard what Abel said.
“He’s not even your uncle, just like Jax isn’t even your dad. You’re a little bastard, dude. Your mom was a fucking Crow Eating Whore! I bet that pervy fucker Tig’s your real dad!”
“Hold on, love,” Chibs warned, and Riona prepared herself.
She grabbed ahold of Abel. The VP reached back and braced Ellie with his hand. He pulled over then slammed on the brakes. Kenny’s face hit the back of Riona’s seat.
“WHAT THE HELL?!” Kenny said with a hand over his nose.
Chibs didn’t utter a word. He stepped out of the truck then marched on over to Kenny’s door. He opened it, grabbed the boy by the collar of his shirt, then dragged him out of the truck. Kenny gritted his teeth and wrapped his arms around Chibs’s wrists. The boy tried kicking him, but Chibs saw it coming and swept the boy’s feet out from under him.
“KENNY!” Ellie cried, and Riona reached back.
Her touch was gentle as she kept the girl contained.
“Let the boys deal, love…” Riona whispered.
Chibs had the boy on the ground. He hovered over him as he had a fistful of Kenny’s shirt in hand. He brought the boy up towards his face.
“Eighteen… That means I can take me belt and beat yer wee little arse! Is that what ye need, boy?!”
Kenny shook his head no, and Chibs brought the kid back to his feet.
“Ye talk ta me nephew like that again, and I’ll cram me boot up yer arse. Do we have an understandin’?”
“Yes…” Chibs hinted with authority.
“Yes, sir,” Kenny growled, and Chibs gave his cheek a playful slap.
“Now, here’s what’s gonna happen. Yer gonna apologize ta the ladies for yer attitude and language. Then yer gonna apologize ta the young lad in there for disrespectin’ him and his father. If ye don’t… We’re gonna have an issue and trust me, ye don’t want an issue with me. Do as yer told and ye and I can have a little talk about yer old man when we get ta the clubhouse. What do ye say?!”
Chibs raised his brows on this and Kenny sighed.
“Yes, sir.” The boy practically hissed, and Chibs smiled.
“That’s a good lad!”
The Scot stuffed the boy back into the truck then slammed the door shut. He walked back around and back into the driver’s seat. Chibs didn’t so much as budge until Kenny apologized. Once he did this, the Scot put the truck back into drive and hit the road again. Riona reached over at one point and patted her brother-in-law’s leg as if to let him know she was on his side, and he handled that pretty well. The Scot gave a mere nod.
“What a bastard mean?”
Chibs shook his head then sent Kenny a stern glare through that rearview mirror.
“It means ya don’t know who your father is…” Riona honestly answered.
“That dumb! I know who my daddy is. Jax my daddy!”
“That’s right. Don’t pay him any attention.”
“And you’s my mommy cause I gives you that ring.” Abel pointed toward the ring on her right index finger, and Riona smiled.
“That’s right, love.”
“That isn’t how it works…” Kenny started to say.
“SHUT UP KENNY!” His sister snapped then elbowed the shit out of him.
“Aye, shut your trap, ya rude lil shite!” Riona surprisingly snapped, and Chibs fought the urge to laugh.
Happy pulled up to a house Aislinn had never seen before. He helped her off the bike then escorted her towards the front door. Happy searched for a hidden key on a nearby window seal.
Aislinn watched with curiosity as he unlocked the door. He opened it then gestured for her to enter first. Aislinn limped on in, and Happy shut the door behind them.
“Where are we?”
“Old man’s place.”
Aislinn’s jaw dropped, and Happy nodded. He stuffed the spare key into his pocket.
“I’m supposed to look for a will or some shit. Mind helping me?”
“Not at all.”
“Cool.” Happy sat her down on the couch.
“I’ll bring a few boxes over.”
“Happy…” Aislinn called as he was headed for one of the rooms.”
“Are ya alright, love?”
“No, I’m not. I hate this place, just as much as I hated my old man. That’s why you’re here. You’ll keep me sane. Well, sane enough for me anyway.” Happy uttered before exiting the room.
Aislinn looked around the living room in thought. She never dreamed that Happy Lowman would bring her to his father’s place, much less right after the funeral. Aislinn sent her husband a text letting him know she was okay. Aislinn damn near dropped her phone however when she spotted a picture of Otto and Happy. Happy was a teenager. Aislinn reached over and moved a few beer cans out of her way. There were cigarette ashes and butts everywhere. She picked the picture up then dusted it off with the bottom of her dress.
She couldn’t get over how miserable Happy looked in that picture. Aislinn jumped when Happy startled her with one of the boxes. He set it down beside her on the couch. He nodded towards the picture in her hand.
“Where’d you find that?”
Aislinn pointed towards the table by the couch. Happy took the picture from her hold then looked at it. He backed up against one of his father’s recliners and sat down.
“I admire you.” He said while looking at the picture still.
“Yeah, you. I saw the footage back at AC’s…”
“Footage?! What footage?”
“When you stood up to your old man. Then took a shot at him. You wanted that bullet in that chamber, didn’t you?!”
“Happy…” Aislinn groaned in misery.
“Didn’t you?!” Happy uttered only more forceful this time.
“At that moment…”
Happy nodded in waiting.
“Aye, I did. I wanted him dead.”
“I know. I could see it. I never had it in me. I thought about it… All the fucking time. But I was a goddamn pussy.” Happy shook his head in thought.
“You didn’t hesitate. You just fucking pulled the trigger, Aislinn.”
“Why were you watchin’ that?”
“Had to see it for myself. Chibs told me what happened… But hearing and seeing, they’re two different things. You should’ve been born with a goddamn dick – big ass one with a big set of balls. I would’ve slapped a patch on you myself!”
“I’m serious — that look when you pulled the trigger. I’ll never forget it. I wanted that to be me with my old man. The look on your father’s face… I wanted that to be Otto. To see his reaction when I’m the one behind the trigger.”
Happy shot Aislinn a look like he was pissed with her.
“How can you love him?!”
Aislinn wasn’t sure what to say to that. So she didn’t answer.
“Tell me! How can you love that worthless piece of fucking shit?!”
“Cause he’s my father.”
“Nah, I want to know why.”
“I told you!”
“BE REAL WITH ME, DAMMIT!” Happy said with a flushed face and the beginning of tears in his eyes.
Aislinn jumped when he punched at a nearby wall. Happy went on a rampage and started throwing things. Nothing directed at her, but it was enough to have her grabbing a pillow and protecting her stomach just in case. Happy picked the coffee table up then threw it into the kitchen.
“AYE NOW!” Aislinn hollered on top of her lungs.
Happy snapped a look her direction.
“Ya throw one more thing, and I’m out of here!”
Happy tilted his head on this but took notice of the way she had that pillow clutched against her stomach. The Son nodded amongst himself. Happy walked on over then got right in her face. Aislinn sneered at this at first. Happy sighed however and cupped her chin with his fingers.
“I’d die for that baby. You know that, right?” He said in an apologetic tone.
Aislinn recoiled from his touch.
“Nah, I love ya. But I won’t have ya doin’ that shite around me. I grew up with it, Happy. All my father did was sit there, yell, have massive tantrums, and get drunk.”
Happy cocked a brow on this but stayed put and kept that chin of hers cupped.
“So did mine…”
“Aye, well my history with my pa wasn’t always so…”
“Abusive?” Happy finished with a growl.
“He only hit me once.”
“Doesn’t matter if he hit you a million fucking times or not at all. He was an abusive motherfucking PRICK!”
“This isn’t about me, is it Happy?”
Happy closed his eyes on this.
“I treated my mom like dog shit.” Happy whispered, so softly she barely heard him.
Happy dropped his hand.
“I wanted to be just like my old man. Hell, I was five, and the man owned a goddamn porn studio. He had naked women hanging around him, alllll the goddamn time. And everyone loved him – the women, the club…” Happy pinched his eyes shut.
“My mother hadn’t a clue… He hid that part of his life from her and did for years.”
“Oh, trust me. The club can do ANYTHING! If they want to hide a porn studio from your wife…” Happy recoiled once he realized where this was going.
Aislinn gave a miserable laugh.
“Aye, I’ve been there.”
“Not like this. What Chibs did was different. He never meant to hide it. He was waiting for the right moment, that’s all. But he should have told you before you even arrived here. Chibs did what he did to keep from hurting you. My father did what he did because he got off to it — going home to his Catholic wife during the day. But spending time with his whores at night. Running a porn studio with that lil side piece whore of his. He liked the thrill of playing my mother. But when she found out what was going on… he didn’t apologize. He didn’t even beg her to stay. No, he blamed her. He walked out the door and got cozy with his whore. He drained my mother’s bank account and took her for everything she had. He even took what money she set aside for me. He put every dime she had into that fucking porn studio and that side bitch of his. They laughed in my mother’s face. But you know what she did?”
Aislinn shook her head no.
“She took care of my ass and got two jobs. You know what I did?”
Aislinn shook her head once again.
“I called her a bitch! I told her it was her fault dad left. I told her if she would’ve kept his ass happy he’d still be here! I told her if she hadn’t bitched about the porn studio when she found out he’d still be here! I told her if she hadn’t gotten FAT he’d still be here.” Happy staggered back and Aislinn shot up afraid he’d fall.
Happy caught his balance however then leaned against the wall.
“I lied to you and Riona. I told you I loved my mother.” Happy’s eyes locked with Aislinn.
“I loved my old man. I thought he was a fucking legend – a hero! This man was around beautiful women constantly, and he was part of an MC! Hell, I became a prospect because of him! I loved him so much I wanted to be just like him. I wanted my mother out of the picture so she wouldn’t stand in my way. She was always nagging me. Don’t do this and that. Don’t do the things your father does. You’ll live to regret it. Fuck you, mom. What do you know? I loved pussy just like my dad! I loved the MC, just like my dad. I betrayed my mother, just like my dad. By the time I realized the truth, it was too late.”
Happy covered his face then dropped to his knees.
“Everything she had… she left to me. But I never saw any of it, and I never saw a dime. Otto used it towards the studio and his wife. The woman my mother begged him not to leave her for. My mother was willing to try church, counseling, whatever it took to get their marriage back on track. She loved my father that much. But he was too obsessed with this porn star of his and the lifestyle she lived. Around her, he felt like a king. My mother was old and fat. I treated her just like my father did and like him, she never stopped loving me. She would pray and pray. She reached out to me constantly, begging me not to go down the same path.”
Happy looked to Aislinn with tears streaming down his face.
“Aislinn, I’ve been holding onto this shit for YEARS! You’re the only one that gets it! I know the circumstances were different, but you too admired your old man. You wanted to be just like him. You loved him, no matter what he said or did. In your eyes, he could do no wrong.”
“We both know what I mean. We wanted to be them so much we were blinded to everything around us. I walked in on my father…” Happy trailed off, and his hands balled up into fists.
“No one knows this… No one. But I can’t do this anymore. I just can’t. Everyone loved that bastard so fucking much! BUT HE MURDERED MY MOTHER, AISLINN!!! STRANGLED HER TO DEATH!”
Aislinn’s jaw dropped, and Happy gasped back like he’d been holding that breath forever.
“THAT’S WHY I KILLED LUANNE! I WANTED TO HURT HIM, THE WAY HE HURT MY MOTHER. THAT’S WHY I’M SO PISSED AT YOU FOR HAVING THE BALLS! I DIDN’T! I COULD’VE KILLED OTTO BUT DIDN’T! I WENT AFTER HIS WIFE INSTEAD. I COULDN’T KILL HIM! AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE FUCKED UP PART OF THAT IS?!”
Aislinn shook her head no.
“THAT’S when I realized how much I hated him and loved my mother… I didn’t kill Luanne to get back at my father. No. FUCK HIM! I killed her for ME! I didn’t want that bitch as a stepmother! I wanted my mother back. I wanted to tell her how sorry I was and how much of an ungrateful little bastard I was. She was a single mom working two goddamn jobs, so I could have clothes on my back, food in my stomach… But I never saw that… All I saw was this old hag keeping me away from these hot bitches. Keeping me away from the future I wanted. I didn’t want to go to church and say my fucking hail Marys. I didn’t want the honest living she wanted. I wanted to be a fucking GOD. Pussy, , money, booze, Harleys… What could be better than that?! Otto saw something… I’m not sure how or when exactly. But he saw me leaning more and more towards my mother the older I got. I was starting to lose respect for him and realized he was nowhere near the God I thought him to be. When I asked why he did it… He said he did it for me. Said I was getting too soft and becoming a momma’s boy. SAMCRO didn’t want no momma’s boy. He didn’t want to leave the porn business in the hands of one either. I aimed my gun at the son of a bitch, and he laughed in my face. HE FUCKING LAUGHED and walked away like it was nothing. I was a prospect, and he left me to clean up after him. I had to bury my mother an in empty field and cover up the evidence. While he went back to the porn studio and fucked his little whore. It wasn’t long after that I killed that whore. I cut her brakes, and the bitch went down in an epic fucking crash. Some of my best work, I gotta say. I loved every second of watching her burn. I could hear her screaming, and I just sat there in that car laughing my fucking ass off! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH ME?!” Happy shouted, then hit at his own chest.
“Happy…” Aislinn softly called.
“I don’t want to go to that rally tonight. I don’t want to deal with anyone. I don’t want to hear heroic stories about my father. I don’t want anyone asking about him either!”
“Then, don’t go. No one’s goin’ to hold it against you.”
“Will you save my life again?”
“Are ya drownin’, love?”
“More than ever…” Happy said with fear in his eyes.
“Happy, you’re my brother. I’d do anythin’ for ya.”
“I’d say we get shit-faced…” Happy signaled towards her stomach, however, and Aislinn laughed.
“Aye, I’m afraid I’m gonna hafta go about this sober.”
“That sucks.” Happy teased and Aislinn laughed.
“You have no idea! And what do ya have in mind?”
“Both John Wicks, maybe some Die Hard? Pizza. Booze for me. Dr. Pepper for you. But I don’t wanna talk, Aislinn.”
“I hear ya. I can do that.”
“You sure? I don’t wanna take you away from tonight if…”
Aislinn reached out then hugged him. Happy got a little choked up as he held her in return.
The Son cleared his throat, then dropped his hold. He looked to the boxes around them and shook his head.
“Guess we better get to it.”
Aislinn forced a smile.
“Aye, I just need to hit the jacks.”
“Down the hall, three doors down, and to the right.”
Happy was digging through one of the boxes when she headed that way. Aislinn locked the door behind her. She called her husband, knowing she had to make it short and sweet.
“Ali?” He answered, sounding a bit concerned.
“I can’t be long, Scotty. I just need ya to know I won’t becomin’ back tonight.”
“Happy’s not in a good place. He’s goin’ through Otto’s belongin’s. I need to be here.”
“Ali?” Chibs called when she started to cry.
“I think he wants me to stay because he’s afraid of what he might do… I know that fear, Scotty. I’ve been there.”
“Then he’s got the best support he can get. I know he’s in good hands with you, darlin’. I’ll miss ye.”
“I’ll miss ya too. Oh, and Scotty?”
“Don’t bring Otto up. Let everyone else know.”
“I’ll do that.”
“You know, you and the kids are welcome to stay.” Jax insisted when Donna mentioned leaving soon.
He was driving her to the clubhouse, and Donna glanced out the window in thought.
“You know how I feel about the club and your little gatherings. I don’t want my children exposed to that.”
“Understood,” Jax uttered thinking she hadn’t changed a bit.
Donna loathed the club, always had.
“I’m glad you came.”
“No offense but we only came for the kids’ grandfather.”
Jax chuckled in misery.
“You really hate me, don’t you?”
“I don’t hate you. I just wish you hadn’t…” Donna shook her head, and Jax cocked a brow as he pulled into the clubhouse lot.
“Wish I hadn’t…”
“Dragged him into all this.”
“ME?!” Jax said in defense.
“Donna, Piney was in the club long before I ever came into the picture! Opie was raised with that shit. It was in his blood, just like me!”
“Yeah but you only pulled him in further. He wanted out!”
“No, he didn’t.” Jax damn near hissed.
Donna laughed in mockery and Jax sighed.
“Opie only said that shit to get you off his back. He never wanted out! The only times he threatened to leave or did was when you enforced it!”
“I didn’t enforce anything!”
“Oh, so you never threatened to take the kids and up and leave if he didn’t leave the club?!”
Donna closed her eyes, and Jax nodded amongst himself as he put the truck into park.
“Donna, you can paint me as the villain all you want. You always have. But Op… he was a grown-ass man with a mind of his fucking own. None of us had any say in what direction his life took. But I will say this much, on Op’s behalf. You wanted him out. But you would go on and on about how he needed to make more money. What did you expect him to do? The only way he could bring in THAT kind of money was through the club. That’s what led to that night with Kenny. Opie was under a lot of pressure, and you just wouldn’t back off. Opie took it out on the wrong person.”
Donna hauled off and slapped Jax. The passenger side door opened and before Jax could even fathom what was taking place Riona had ahold of Donna.
“NO!” Jax scolded and was quick to jump out of the truck.
He rushed on over then pried his wife off of Donna.
“No, baby.” Jax softly uttered as he stood between the two.
“I don’t know ya from Jack! But I best not see ya hittin’ my husband again.”
Donna laughed while rubbing her throat where Riona had grabbed her.
“Got yourself another MC whore I see.” Donna sneered Jax’s direction, and Jax raised his brows on this.
“You know… You’re all the same. White biker trash.” Donna said while eyeing Riona down.
“Ya would know…” Riona wittedly fired back and Jax half-laughed, thinking his wife made a good point there.
“Yeah, I think you just wore out your welcome.” Jax made clear.
“I’m not going anywhere, not until I have Piney and Harry’s keys.”
“Keys?! Keys to what?!”
“Their houses, vehicles whatever else they had.”
“You’re kidding… That’s what you came here for?! You wanna raid their homes and vehicles?! And what makes you think I would have them?!”
“The way I see it… They owe us. Besides, we’re immediate family. Meaning all assets go to us.”
“You mean your children.” Jax corrected.
“Look, I don’t give a shit what you do when it comes to Opie’s stuff. But you had best be respectful when it comes to Piney. You hadn’t shit to do with him or Op… in how long…?! Then you just show up out of the blue and start making demands?! Jesus, Op wasn’t kidding. You really are money hungry.”
Donna hollered for her kids. They were sitting beside Chibs and Abel and eating the ribs the Sons had grilled. Chibs already had that talk he promised Kenny, like that of Jax he said it was the Nordics and kept it simple from there. Kenny took it better than Chibs expected and even went as far as to thank him for being honest with him. That stung in the sense that Chibs wasn’t exactly honest, but there was no way he could tell Kenny the truth.
“NOW!” She snapped, and Ellie and Kenny shot to their feet.
“You can blame Op all you want… But I think we know where all this really stemmed from. I thought you were here because you actually gave a damn. If I had known you were after their wallets and whatever else they left behind. I would’ve booted your sorry ass out of that service. You make me sick.”
“The feeling is mutual. And you just proved my point… You always had Harry’s back, no matter what he did.”
“This hasn’t anything to do with having his back. This has to do with you being a disgusting, sorry excuse for a human being. What man wouldn’t go insane after being married to your gold-digging ass?”
“Let’s go,” Donna ordered while herding her kids about.
“How you going to get to your car?” Jax hissed in reminder as it was at the cemetery still.
“I’ll find a way.”
Chibs overheard this and sighed.
“I’ll take em.”
“I say you take the kids and make her sorry ass walk.”
“I’ll keep her on a leash and tie her ta the back of the truck.” Chibs taunted with a cruel wink Donna’s direction.
Donna’s jaw dropped, and Jax chuckled.
“He’ll do it too,” Jax added with a smirk.
“You boys haven’t changed a bit!”
“Touché, darlin’. Touché.” Jax grumbled before heading into the clubhouse with his wife and son.
Later that night:
“Where’d Happy and Aislinn run off to?” Bobby questioned.
“Eh, Happy had a few things ta take care of, and he needed Ali’s assistance.”
“This late?” Bobby asked while looking at the time.
“Aye. They won’t be comin’ by tonight.”
Bobby reared back in surprise.
“Wait… Are you letting your wife stay with another man? OVERNIGHT?!”
Chibs rolled his eyes on this. Bobby chuckled out of mere amusement.
“Well, Happy’s one lucky bastard.”
“Knock it off, Munson.”
“Just sayin’… She’s pregnant, and he’s vulnerable…”
“What’s that hafta do with anythin’?!”
“Well, you know what they say about pregnant women, right?”
Bobby leaned in with a grin.
“They get horny as fuck, and you know Happy won’t turn down a good lay. No matter how…”
Bobby swallowed back as Chibs suddenly had a knife to his throat.
“Filip!” Jax scolded from a couple tables down.
All eyes were on Bobby and Chibs now. Chibs gritted his teeth but lowered the knife.
“Ye watch what ye say about me wife.” Chibs stormed off, and Bobby shook his head in disbelief.
“What the fuck is his problem?”
“Ever think you take things a bit too far?” Tig questioned, and Bobby laughed.
“I can’t believe THAT came out of YOUR mouth.”
“Come on, Bobby. Those two have been through hell. Just lay off a bit.” Tig muttered before sipping on his beer.
Chibs entered the clubhouse and was pouring himself a couple shots at the bar. He shook his head, seeing as how everyone was practically fucking if not full-on fucking. That only made him wish his wife was here even more. He’d plans of living it up tonight, but his buzz was somewhat killed after her phone call. He wasn’t mad with her, not by any means. But he had a few choice of words when it came to Happy. Chibs downed those shots in thought. Riona had taken Abel home, and Jax himself mentioned something about heading out early. Chibs figured it was best if he went ahead and called it a night himself. He was headed for the back room when someone tapped him on the shoulder. The Scot peered back and saw that it was Gaines.
“Hey…” Gaines uttered, and Chibs nodded.
“I never thanked you for what you did.”
“No thanks was needed and ye already done so anyhow.” Chibs reminded with a shrug.
“Not in person and yes it was. I know I put you guys through hell back in Nevada. I’m sorry. I just…”
“Gaines, don’t. We’re good, alright?! Trust me. If anyone gets it, it’s me. Ye don’t owe me shite.”
Gaines didn’t seem convinced, so Chibs headed back to the bar with him.
“How’s yer family?” Chibs sincerely questioned while pouring himself another shot.
He poured one for Gaines as well.
“They’re good… For the most part. My sister though… She’s a mess.”
“I can imagine.”
“No parent should bury their children.”
“Aye,” Chibs uttered then poured a couple more shots.
He grabbed a couple beers apiece as well. The VP wanted to go on to bed but could tell Gaines needed the company. The Scot found it a bit ironic, considering his wife was consoling Happy at the moment and here he was being a shoulder for Gaines. If anything, that only proved that he and Aislinn truly got one another. They’d never turn their backs to family, or a brother in crisis. She and Riona were SAMCRO through and through now. It was in their veins.
Ethan was drinking a beer and talking to Jax and Kip when a familiar Indian motorcycle pulled up to the table they were sitting at.
“Leia?” Ethan whispered in shock.
Jax chuckled when Ethan damn near tripped over himself. He couldn’t get to that bike fast enough. The young woman took her helmet off then smiled Ethan’s direction.
“Was passing by and wondered what all the fuss was about.”
“Does AC know you’re here?”
“Nope and your fake girlfriend doesn’t either.”
Ethan let out a miserable sigh on that.
“Relax. We’ll get that all situated.”
“So, you gonna offer me a beer or what?!”
Ethan chuckled then cracked open a nearby cooler. He opened a beer then handed it over.
“Hella lot of tits around here,” Leia muttered while looking at the scene before her.
There were several topless women. Ethan recoiled.
“Ummm, yeah…” He rubbed the back of his neck, uncomfortably.
“Is this like a rally or something?”
“You could say that.”
“Relax Ethan. I’m not judging. I work at a bar for crying out loud, and you’re my boss!”
“You look more uncomfortable than I do.” Leia teased and Ethan chuckled in thought.
“I can handle tits… You wanna know a secret?” Leia leaned into Ethan’s ear.
“I got a pair myself. Nice ones too.”
Ethan’s entire face lit up, and Leia giggled.
“Damn you’re cute as hell when you do that.” She said in admiration.
Ethan lifted his eyes on this, and Leia was the one blushing now.
“Sorry. Forgot about the fake girlfriend and all.”
“Yeah, that’s a shame,” Ethan uttered, deciding to play along.
“It is, isn’t it?”
Ethan nodded in thought. He took another pull of his beer.
“I kind of want to fuck you,” Ethan uttered surprising himself.
Leia burst into tears of laughter, and Ethan himself was laughing now.
“Just kind of, huh?”
“Yeah, just a little.”
“Huh, well… you get back to me when it’s more than kind of.”
Ethan cocked a brow in response. Jax overheard this and whistled out, gathering the prospect’s attention.
“Get the fuck out of here, brother,” Jax said, and Ethan chuckled.
“That’s not a request. That’s an order. Go get you some.” The president added.
“Well, you heard the boss.” She said then waved Jax’s direction.
“THANK YOU!” She hollered out in return.
“No problem darlin’. You two have fun!”
Jax was extra quiet as he entered the house. He didn’t want to wake his wife or son, figuring they were asleep. He headed for the fridge and grabbed a beer. He damn near jumped however when he saw a shadowed figure sitting at the table. It wasn’t until the fridge light came on that he realized it was his wife.
“Riona?” He softly called.
Riona nodded but was looking at him oddly.
“What’s that?” She asked while pointing towards one of his jean pockets.
Riona didn’t give him time to answer. She came to her feet then removed the item herself.
“Really?” She rather hissed, and Jax sighed as it was a pair of women’s panties.
He hadn’t a clue those were even in there. One of the Crow Eaters must’ve stuffed them in there when they were talking to him.
“I don’t know who did that.” He said, sounding a little pissed. Not at his wife, but whoever did it.
Riona threw the lacy panties away then leaned against the kitchen counter.
“You know I didn’t…” Jax sternly put, and Riona sighed.
“I know. But I don’t like ya comin’ home with another woman’s panties. I’ve givin’ ya plenty of mine!”
Jax chuckled in thought. He closed the fridge then made his way over.
“Are you wearing any now?” He murmured while running a hand up her silk robe.
Jax ran his fingers along her bare ass and grinned.
“Guess that answers my question.”
“Aye, so ya think ya can bring home another woman’s panties and get laid?!”
“Come on, babe. I had no idea those were even there. It’s been a long fucking night. All I wanted was to come home. I want to be with my wife. Don’t go cockblocking me over some idiot crow eater.”
Riona sighed. She wrapped her arms around his neck, then placed her forehead against his.
“Sorry, love. I just wasn’t expectin’ that. I know ya didn’t do anythin’. I couldn’t help but let it get to me.”
“Trust me. I get it. I’m lucky I didn’t get slapped!”
“Night isn’t over yet…” His wife taunted, and Jax chuckled.
“Always keeping me on my toes. Hell, even if I wanted to run around on you, I’m not suicidal. You’d gun my ass down, and your brother and sister would be taggin’ along behind you.”
Riona giggled in thought.
“Look at me, darlin’,” Jax said while lifting his wife’s chin.
“I only got eyes for you. Nothing about that is going to change.” He said before kissing her.
That kiss continued as he lifted his wife up on the kitchen counter. The president unbuckled his SAMCRO belt then unfastened his pants. Jax didn’t waste any time. He’d been thinking about this the entire drive home. That’s what pissed him off about those panties. He didn’t know his wife was still up. He’d plans of sneaking into bed and waking her with a thorough fucking. But this right here would do. Jax’s lips didn’t break from hers, not even once. He had a fistful of her hair and was thrusting with everything he had. That kiss grew more and more intense with each stroke he gave. Jax felt the warmth of her release, and it wasn’t long before he threw his head back in a finish. He prolonged that kiss a little further before pulling out.
“What was that?!” Riona asked with trembling thighs.
Jax chuckled in response.
“Been thinking about that all night. You fucking taste good too.” He said then kissed her yet again.
Jax shook his head as that light-headed feeling hit.
“I think you gave me a fucking buzz!” Jax said, and his wife laughed.
He wasn’t joking, though. The man truly felt intoxicated, and that hadn’t anything to do with the beer he’d been drinking. Jax put himself away, then helped his wife down from the counter.
“We need to talk about Abel’s birthday.” He whispered, and Riona shook her head in full agreement.
“Hope you like dogs…” Ethan muttered before unlocking his door.
“Dogs?” Leia softly questioned but squealed the moment she saw Daisy and her puppies.
Ethan laughed when Leia hunkered down and greeted them all with kisses.
“AWWWW, how cute!” She said while holding one of the puppies up.
“Look at that little nose!”
Ethan shut the door then locked it behind him.
“Can I get you something to drink?” He offered while taking his jacket off and heading to the fridge.
“Nice place. Small, like really small. But nice!”
“Thanks… I guess?”
Leia rose then made her way into the kitchen. She peeked over Ethan’s shoulder as he was looking in the fridge.
“Beer is fine.”
“Beer it is.” He said while grabbing a couple.
Ethan spun around, then handed hers over. He used his hip to shut the fridge door.
“Leia, I gotta ask before we go any further… How are you going to feel about this Sam ordeal? I mean…”
Leia placed the tip of her beer against his lips, shushing him.
“I don’t want to talk about Sam.” She made perfectly clear, and Ethan nodded.
“Who?” He muttered playing along.
“Why didn’t you ask me out?” Leia sincerely questioned looking a little hurt.
“Because your brother’s insane…”
“You’re scared of my brother?!”
“Well yeah… he’s a little intense when it comes to his precious Lele.”
“Pffft, he’s all talk, Ethan. Besides, he likes you.”
“Leia, something tells me that will change the moment he finds out…”
“Finds out what?” She taunted with a wide grin.
Ethan reached over and placed his beer on the counter. He took hers from her hold and placed it beside his. He backed her up against the counter, and they were hip to hip now.
“That I did this…” He murmured before kissing her.
Before Ethan could even think about what was happening, Leia ripped his button shirt open and had her hands along his chest. Ethan lifted her up off the ground and wrapped her legs around his waist. He dodged a few puppies along the way as he headed for the bedroom. He shut the door behind him. He had his hands along her ass and had her grinding against him as he headed for the bed. Leia left a trail of wet kisses all along his neck and chest. Ethan laid her down, and removed her clothes one by one. The man couldn’t help but gawk once he had her fully exposed.
“Good Lord…” He whispered in awe.
Her breasts were nice and perky, and Leia had that perfectly toned body. The girl most certainly took care of herself. Ethan licked her tummy and left a trail up towards her breasts. He took his time licking and sucking on her nipples. He’d let out a moan every once in a while. Leia had her hand along his crotch and was teasing him through his blue jeans. It had been a while for Ethan. He couldn’t remember the last time he had sex. The proof was most certainly there when Leia unfastened his pants to find a trail of precum along his black boxers. Leia smiled then lowered his boxers enough to see it dripping out of him as well.
“Damn… Talk about backed up. You need some help with that?!”
“You’ve no idea.” He murmured against her neck.
Leia gave his cock a few strokes then watched in mere amusement as more and more cum leaked out of him. There was enough to act as a lube as she massaged his shaft.
“Leia…” He uttered in damn near misery.
As good as that felt, it was also very torturous. Ethan struggled to keep from flat-out coming in her hand. He’d never live it down if he did. Ethan forced himself away just long enough to gather a condom from one of his nightstands. He put it on then made his way back. Leia laughed as his dick seemed to have a mind of its own. Ethan was so hard his dick was bobbing.
“I have the feeling I’m about to get seriously wrecked.” She said, and Ethan chuckled.
“Big time.” He cautioned before sliding on in.
Ethan froze for a brief moment then shook his head. He forgot how that felt, being inside someone like that.
“You ready?” He said as if in warning.
He took Leia’s wrecked comment as an invitation. There would be no holding back now.
“Bring it, bad boy.” She challenged, and Ethan was gone.
Aislinn and Happy were sitting on the couch and on the second John Wick movie. Happy was nursing a bottle of whiskey and chain-smoking. Aislinn sipped on her Dr Pepper and was eating a slice of pizza. She was relieved to know the pizza didn’t make her sick. It seemed as if certain foods and smells triggered her morning sickness. She hadn’t had a spell since she arrived at Happy’s. She had one little episode when they were looking for the will at Otto’s, but it didn’t last long. She was more than certain it was a box of old cigars that triggered it. It happened not long after she opened the box, not knowing what it was. The overly sweet aroma hit and Aislinn barely made it to the bathroom. She missed the toilet and had to clean up her mess once she finished. Happy told her to leave it considering it was his father’s place, but she couldn’t bear the idea, even with Otto being a son of a bitch. It was disrespectful to leave it.
Aislinn glanced over however as she heard Happy open some sort of container. She narrowed her eyes when she saw they were some sort of prescription pills. The young woman sprang to her feet, and she was quick to snatch the bottle out of his hold as he brought them against his mouth.
“What the hell, Happy? Is that what ya brought me here for? To watch ya die?!” Her hands shook as she held the bottle.
Happy cocked a brow on this.
“Why would ya do that to me?” She said and was on the brink of tears.
Happy sighed. He took a decent swig of whiskey then made a gesture towards the bottle.
“It’s prescription-strength ibuprofen…” He uttered, and Aislinn regarded Happy in thought.
Aislinn looked to the bottle, and Happy nodded. There were just a couple pills inside, and that’s what he was about to chug down.
“Jaysus.” She said while taking a seat on his coffee table.
“So, you thought…” Happy murmured with a devilish smirk.
“That’s not funny.”
“It kind of is.”
“No, it really isn’t.”
Aislinn handed the bottle back, and Happy swallowed those last two pills.
“I’m not that much of an asshole. If I was going to off myself, it wouldn’t be with you here.”
“I sure hope not!”
“So, it’s okay to wait until you’re gone?” Happy cruelly teased and Aislinn punched him on the leg.
“Damn that fucking hurt!”
“Good! Ya horse’s arse!”
The two broke into a fit of laughter, and Happy shook his head.
“I’m glad you’re not dead.” He drunkenly murmured.
“Is that so?”
“Yeah, that would’ve sucked.”
“I’m surprised you didn’t ask my sister to stay with you.”
Happy raised his brows, and Aislinn nodded.
“Aye, I don’t blame ya. She is beautiful.”
“Aislinn…” Happy started to say.
“Let me finish… I know I’m a rightful pain the arse. My husband lets me know that quite a bit. I never meant for my sister to take all that responsibility when my mother died, and my father gave up. I need ya to know that. I did whatever I could to help her. But I know I fucked up. I know I gave her grief and trouble, and I doubt she had much time to mourn, because of me.”
Happy recoiled when Aislinn’s eyes swelled up with tears.
“It’s okay if you don’t like me as much. If I were you, I probably wouldn’t like me either.”
“Stop.” Happy said, then set the bottle down on the table.
The man sighed as he was trying his hardest to wrap his head around this. Did Aislinn pick up on his and Riona’s entire conversation?! Did Aislinn hear all those horrible things he said? How?! That shouldn’t be possible. The Son was wracking his brain, trying to figure this one out.
“Did you…” Happy trailed off then pinched his eyes shut.
“I’m not mad. I just wanted you to know… that I know. We can leave it at that.”
“I do like you.” Happy corrected.
“But I get on your fuckin’ nerves.” She quoted, and Happy sighed.
“You do.” He admitted, and Aislinn flinched.
“I don’t mean to, love.”
“I know. But Aislinn, you have it all wrong. I said what I said because I was pissed with Riona.”
“No, you didn’t. You said it because it was how you felt.”
“No. I said it because…” Happy swallowed back, then sat up.
He reached for the bottle of whiskey, but Aislinn stopped him.
“I think ya’ve had enough.” She said as his words were starting to slur and his eyes were bloodshot.
“You really gonna play that game?!”
“I sure am! Ya need to get to bed.”
“Not until you know why I said those things…”
“I don’t need to know. Alright? It’s not that big of deal. I’m a big girl. I can handle it.”
“I love your sister.”
“I know you do.”
“No, Aislinn. I mean, I love your sister.” Happy reiterated, and Aislinn froze.
Her eyes locked with his, and Happy nodded. Aislinn knew the man was downright plastered. Still, she was shocked to hear that, from Happy’s mouth, nevertheless.
“That doesn’t leave this room. I mean it. That had better stay between us until we breathe our last breaths. I said what I said because I was drugged up and like I said… pissed with Riona.”
“Have you told her?!”
“Fuck, no! And she’ll never know! Understood?!”
“Actually, I agree.” She said, taking Happy by surprise.
“Look at what that did to me and Brodie! I don’t want that for you and my sister. She can never know how you feel. I can’t believe I’m sayin’ this, but it’s true. It would only lead to heartache, for the both of ya and it makes things way to complicated when the other feels pressured by the other one’s feelings. I’m sorry the feeling isn’t mutual, but somethin’ tells me you’re not the settlin’ down type anyhow. I don’t mean that offensively. But Happy Lowman with a wife and kids… That’s not happening; we both know that. Your father did a real number on ya, worse than anythin’ mine had ever done. There’s no overcomin’ that. You’re a permanent bachelor. You hate it, but it’s what ya are. And even if my sister wasn’t with Jax, it would’ve never worked. Your baggage would’ve tripped her up, and you’d end up killin’ one another.”
“Ever consider therapy?” Happy questioned and Aislinn laughed, thinking he was poking fun at her.
“I’m serious. You’d make one hell of a shrink.”
“I thought ya was takin’ the piss as in I needed therapy.”
“Well, you do. We all do, even therapist need therapist. We’re all a bunch of crazies!”
The two were quiet for a brief moment.
“Everything you said was dead on. You’re right. All that shit just isn’t in me. I would’ve tried to make it work but would’ve fucked some Crow Eater and pissed her off. Then I’d go around killing anyone she ever hooked up with even if I knew we’d never be together again.”
“Oh, you ole romantic you!”
“Goddamn right, I am!” Happy said with a chuckle, and Aislinn smiled.
“I won’t tell a soul.”
Happy however sighed when he remembered that Chibs and Bobby knew, and now Aislinn… But when it came to Aislinn, that was his choice to make. He just couldn’t bear the thought of her truly believing he hated her, because he didn’t. He didn’t blame her for Riona’s hard past, either. Both sisters had it pretty rough. The Son remembered how protective of Riona he felt that day but knew it was also the drugs talking. Damn things acted like a truth serum, and it pissed him off something fierce.
“So, I was the safe bet…” Aislinn murmured in thought, and Happy tilted his head in question.
“Aye, ya don’t wanna fuck me. That’s why ya had me stay with you instead of Riona!”
“Who says I don’t wanna fuck you?!” Happy said with a smirk, and Aislinn snorted.
“I’m game if you are!” Happy teased.
“Ya just call my husband and see how he feels about that.”
“Before… or after.” He taunted once again.
The Son cleared his throat, however.
“Aislinn, you’re a very fuckable woman. Trust me. Hell, I would’ve fucked you both, at the same time!”
“That’s great, love. But this conversation’s startin’ to make me uncomfortable. I love Scotty and couldn’t imagine myself with anyone else, and I’m not about to incest it up with my sister.”
“Would you for Ethan?!”
“HAPPY LOWMAN!” She scolded with a giggle.
“What brother or not, he’s an attractive guy!”
“Do you want to fuck my brother?”
“Maybe…” He teased, and Aislinn laughed.
“You’re something else.”
“I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize yours or Riona’s relationships. I love and respect this club. Old ladies have and will always be hands-off. At least in my own book of rules. You don’t pull that shit, not with your brothers. So, if you happen to change your mind and crawl into bed with me… I’ll have to turn you down then go and beat off in the shower.”
“I’m drunk, Aislinn.” He said with a chuckle.
“CLEARLY! You’re startin’ to sound like Tig Trager!”
“Yeah, well the difference there is I’d never come on to the president’s old lady, no matter who she was.”
“Wait… Are ya sayin’ Tig came on to Gemma?”
“Fuck, yeah. Lots of times.”
“I’m a lot of things, but that’s not one of them.”
Happy looked to the time then sighed like he was pissed.
“I said I didn’t want to talk and here we are, talking.”
“That must be terrible for you!”
“It is.” Happy miserably put, and Aislinn snorted.
“That’s another reason I fuck bitches then send them off. You all talk too much.”
“Once again, such the romantic. I can see why women flock to ya!”
“Right?! I’m the fucking man!”
Happy drew back a breath then looked to the time again.
“Then I’ll help ya to bed.”
“No. Call Chibs and have him pick you up.”
“Happy, I’m perfectly fine…”
When she refused, Happy took it upon himself to call. He hung up directly after then nodded her direction.
“On his way.”
“Aislinn, you already did what I hoped you’d do.”
“You took my mind off everything. That’s all I wanted. Just a moment’s peace and you gave me that. I knew you would because you get it. You don’t want anyone hovering, and neither do I. You gave me five hours of silent company. Anyone else would’ve talked throughout every movie. Constantly checking up on me and asking if I’m okay. You didn’t do that once. You think I picked you because you’re unfuckable. But I’m sending you away because you’re very fuckable. And that would be incest, considering you’re my bratty little sister.” He added that last part with a smirk and Aislinn snorted, considering their earlier conversation about Ethan.
Happy came to his feet and grabbed the bottle of whiskey from the coffee table. Aislinn frowned and Happy laughed.
“Just a quick swig before I go and pass the fuck out.” He said before pecking her on the forehead.
Aislinn watched as he did as promised. He took one more gulp then put it away before heading into his room. Aislinn cleaned up after their mess, and it wasn’t long before her husband knocked on the door. She answered it, and Chibs poked his head inside.
“Aye, he went on to bed. Just let me wash these glasses out.”
Chibs nodded, then stepped on in. He sat on the couch and waited while his wife finished cleaning up.
“John Wick, huh?” He whispered, when he saw the DVD’s setting out on Happy’s coffee table. Aislinn nodded then made her way back to the living room.
“Why don’t ye head on ta the truck? I gotta take a piss. I’ll lock up behind me.” He said while handing the keys over.
Aislinn nodded and headed on out. Chibs waited until he saw her in the truck. The Scot nodded amongst himself, then went and knocked on Happy’s bedroom door. Happy answered, looking slightly confused. Chibs hugged him, then socked him across the face directly after.
“Don’t ye ever take me pregnant wife on a bike again.” The Scot made clear and Happy reared back like the thought never even occurred to him.
The Scot strutted on out of the house, and Happy sighed before locking everything up.
Chibs pulled into the SAMCRO parking lot, parked the truck, then looked to his wife in thought.
“I want a cigarette…” He uttered, and Aislinn laughed, gathering the hint.
“Do ya now?”
“Aye, I need one real bad, pet.”
Aislinn thought she’d go ahead and humor him. She unbuckled his belt then unzipped his pants. Once she had him fished out, she bent down, and Chibs stopped her.
“Maybe we should wait for that until ye have the brace off.”
“Scotty, I can handle a lil pole smokin’.”
“Ain’t nothin’ little about it, lass!” He uttered, and she laughed.
“Seriously love, a ride is just fine.”
Aislinn ignored this, however, and Chibs threw his head back. He didn’t expect her to deep throat him, right off the bat.
“Goddamn darlin’.” He uttered behind a moan.
He supported her neck with one of his hands just for his own peace of mind. But as he did this, he bucked his hips off the seat and fucked her mouth.
“Em, ye like suckin’ me cock, pet?”
She moaned against his cock, and Chibs went a little deeper with the thrusting. He gave her hair a little tug knowing he couldn’t go all out, not until that brace was off. But he wanted her to have a small teaser as to what was to come later on.
“That’s right, love. Ye love it when I fuck that sexy mouth of yers.”
Chibs was using both hands now to support that neck of hers. He picked up the pace as he did this.
“Swallow!” He ordered with a bit of a growl just before he came.
Aislinn did as she was told then licked him clean afterward.
“That hurt any?” He questioned, and Aislinn smiled.
“Not even a little.”
“Good deal. Ye tell me, though when it does.”
“I will.” She promised, and Chibs used his thumb to wipe a drop of cum off her lip.
He placed his thumb into her mouth and had her lick it clean. Chibs chuckled when he caught her playing with herself.
“Ye really are enjoyin’ this, aren’t ye?”
Aislinn nodded then teased him by sucking on his thumb.
“Fuck…” Chibs muttered.
“Give me a show, pet.”
Chibs laid her down. He unfastened her jeans then yanked them down past her knees.
“I wanna see you cum.” He uttered while placing her hand along her pussy suggestively.
He gave a simple nod afterward, and Aislinn blushed.
“Ye said ye never played with yerself. Never made yerself cum. We’re gonna change that. Ye should be in touch with your body, darlin’. Nothin’ wrong with a wee bit of self lovin’. Ye should know what ye want and when… If we’re messin’ around and ye feel the urge ta touch yerself. Then, by all means, take those fuckin’ pants off and do it. I’m all for it! I’ll take pictures, hell, I’ll film it!”
Aislinn blushed once again but slipped a couple fingers inside.
“That’s me, girl.”
Chibs watched for a bit as she did this. The more into it she got, the more turned on he was. Chibs found himself jerking off, but what amazed him was his wife’s reaction. The moment she saw Chibs jerking off, she arched back and came. Chibs nodded amongst himself and decided to use this to his advantage. He crawled on over so she could have a better view. His name fled from her lips as she came yet again. Chibs couldn’t believe her reaction to watching him masturbate. What woman would be turned on by an old man doing that? The Scot found himself thinking but the more he witnessed her reaction, the more enamored he found himself. This woman truly was one in a million. There was no denying how much he was turning her on right now, and the feeling was mutual. Chibs swore he’d never witnessed anything so sexy. No porno would ever compare to watching his girl have a little fun. Chibs wanted to see more. This had him reaching over and lifting her shirt. He unclasped her bra. The clasp was in front, just the way he preferred. Aislinn bought them this way ever since he let her know those turned him on the most. He didn’t care about that neck brace of hers. All he could focus on was how turned on she was. Aislinn closed her eyes at one point, and it was as if he wasn’t even there. That had him jerking off even harder now.
“Ali…” He softly called, and she opened her eyes just in time to see him come across her breasts.
Aislinn came yet again, and Chibs couldn’t help but smile in vain. He never dreamed that any woman would be turned on by HIM. He and Aislinn had a few moments like that on the ship, but he was so preoccupied with not pushing things too far he hadn’t taken notice of her reaction to him. Fiona however, made it clear that she found that sort of thing revolting. The one time she caught him doing that she made him stop and he was using that as an invitation. His pride took a bit of a hit that day. He hadn’t done that with a woman since. Sex was pretty straight forward ever since that included any porn star or crow eater he ever fucked. Chibs had his share of threesomes in the past, but he’d let them act out their little scenes then he’d join them afterward. He was never one to act anything out himself, self-pleasuring wise anyhow. Chibs never realized just how much Fiona held him back and the amount of abuse she herself had him endure. How could one man have that much sex in his lifetime, only to feel that comfortable with ONE woman?! He found that baffling.
“Now that was…” Aislinn breathlessly trailed off with a hint of a blush and Chibs chuckled.
“Was…?” He uttered in waiting.
“Ye like that, hm?”
She nodded, and Chibs tucked himself away.
“Ali, ye really have no idea.” He whispered while leaving a trail of kisses along her abdomen.
The Scot found himself blown away more and more each day. How remarkable could one woman be? She got him like no other ever did.
“Ye better get some sleep, love. Ye got therapy tomorrow, and we got another all-nighter comin’ up.”
He said knowing the other charters would be there for a few more days.
