Chapter 32 – Home
I do not own Twilight, SOA, or anything youtube related.
“Can’t go home… too risky.” Jax said as he glanced towards the clubhouse.
“Op says the Phantoms have been chilling here for the past few days; I figured we might as well join them. We gotta keep out of sight. So that means we gotta stay put. We don’t leave these gates. I mean it baby. We keep our happy asses grounded.”
Bella nodded in agreement. Everyone else had headed inside. Each of them was dog tired after a total fifteen hours work. But the supplies were back where they belonged and secure now.
“At least we’ll be warm and hell we can get us some fucking delivery.”
Bella frowned when she thought back to the pizza. Jax narrowed his eyes taking notice.
“Tig ordered a pizza, and I couldn’t eat it.” She pouted, and Jax chuckled.
“Awe baby, I’m so sorry. I know that’s rough.”
Jax wrapped his arm around her, and they headed into the clubhouse. Bella froze, and Jax reared back in disbelief. The entire room was decked out in white. Bella couldn’t tell if they were curtains or sheets, but whoever set it up had done so beautifully.
It reminded Bella of the snow back at the church. There were white hydrangeas and candles lined up, creating an aisle. Bella swallowed back as Chibs was standing at some sort of handmade podium. Bella had never seen anything like this. Before she even had the chance to comment, someone grabbed her by the arm. They dragged her into the ladies room.
Dizzy didn’t utter a word as she stuffed the dress Donna had given her into Bella’s arms. Bella’s mouth flew open as Lyla rushed into the room. She went on to fuss over Bella and was quick to get her ready.
“No heels.” Dizzy made clear with a wink Bella’s direction.
“Dizzy…” Bella whispered with unease.
“Relax, I got you baby!”
Lyla pinned Bella’s hair up and let a few of the strands fall naturally.
“Damn…” Dizzy said in awe.
“I think I want to marry you.” She murmured and Lyla giggled.
“I was thinking that very thing.” The porn star admitted.
Dizzy helped Bella step into her boots and Lyla adjusted the dress. Dizzy smiled and spun Bella around so that she was facing the mirror.
“Look at you… You clean up nicely.” Dizzy teased then smacked her on the ass.
“Wait, is this…” Bella trailed off and was looking awfully pale.
“Oh no, none of that now!” Dizzy scolded and went on to brace Bella against her.
“You’re getting married, even if I have to drag you down that aisle myself!”
Lyla took off without a word. Dizzy placed a wet hand towel along the back of Bella’s neck.
“You know the sudden surprise didn’t help matters.” Bella muttered and Dizzy smiled.
Lyla returned and held something under Bella’s nose.
“Take a whiff of that, hun. It’ll bring you back.”
Bella started to ask what it was but the smell had already hit. It smelled of lavender and ammonia. Lyla had used this on her girls many times. You’d be surprised how many hit that fainting point during certain scenes. They’d have to break, and Lyla would use this to bring them back.
“Smelling salts…” Lyla murmured in explanation.
“Better?” Lyla questioned, and Bella nodded.
Dizzy handed Bella a bottle of water and she downed half of it before handing it back.
Dizzy nodded but with that wide grin about her.
“So are you ready future, Mrs. Teller?”
Bella smiled in thought.
“Yes actually, I am.”
“Alright then, let’s get this party started!”
Dizzy took Bella by the hand and was about to lead her on out the door. Bella came to a halt however and Dizzy peered back with concern.
“Don’t tell me you’re getting cold feet!”
“No. It’s not that.”
“Then what is it baby?”
“It’s Abel and Gemma. They should be here.” Bella sadly stated, and Dizzy gave her hand a little squeeze.
“Do you trust me?” Dizzy asked in a rather curious way.
“Then let’s go.”
Bella regarded her best friend in question but was hauled on out the door. Dizzy handed Bella off to her uncle who was already waiting. Opie couldn’t fathom what he was seeing. He knew his niece wasn’t a little girl anymore, but all that dress did was confirm it. There was a touch of sadness, yet pride all the same. He couldn’t believe how far she’d come and how different she was from that small town girl.”
“Suits you, kid.”
“Thank you.” She said while getting a little teary-eyed.
“Don’t do that…” Opie said then cleared his throat.
“Sorry…” She whispered with a nervous laugh.
“You got this alright.” He did his best to reassure.
Opie knew his niece wasn’t one for having a lot of attention on her. So he wrapped her hand around his arm then patted it, in a soothing matter. Instead of the traditional wedding march, Bella was walking down the aisle to Home by Chris Daughtry.
“The ring…” Bella whispered in alarm, and her uncle smiled.
“Already taken care of.”
Bella let out a sigh of relief.
“Relax, just focus on getting your vows right.”
“I have to say those?”
“I think so…”
“Well shit…” She muttered, and Opie broke into a fit of laughter.
This had everyone’s attention as they were standing at the end of the aisle now. Jax cocked a brow, and Opie sighed. He looked to Jax then back to Bella.
“Do I have to hand you over?” He damn near pleaded and Bella smiled.
Opie nodded but hugged her. He leaned into her ear.
“I love you kiddo. Thank you for the honor.” He said from the depths of his heart.
“Love you too.”
Opie took her hand then placed it into Jax’s.
“You know what this means…” Opie warned in his own way.
Jax gave a respectful nod, and Opie joined the others. Jax was in a suit but wore SAMCRO cufflinks and a SAMCRO kerchief in his jacket pocket.
Both were rather stunned by one another’s presence as neither of them expected this wedding to take place, not tonight anyhow.
“You are absolutely, startling gorgeous and that’s the least interesting thing about you…” Jax uttered in awe and Bella was taken back by his words.
“Bella, I can’t wait to grow old with you. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. You are my soul mate; there’s no question about it. I will always believe we’re kindred spirits that were just meant to be. Yeah, we went through HELL in order to get here. But if anything… it only made us that much stronger. I’m a better person, a better man, and father, because of you. I can’t thank you enough. I want you to have and hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part, but even then I’ll hunt your ass down. You’re it for me baby.”
“So we’re gettin’ ta the vows already?” Chibs teased, and Bella and Jax laughed.
“Couldn’t help myself…”Jax murmured and was looking to Bella in absolute admiration, all over again.
He couldn’t believe this was real. It honestly felt as though a fairy tale. Things like this just didn’t happen to him, not to Jackson Teller.
“Alright, so we’ll do this backward. Do ye have anythin’ ye want ta say, lass?”
Bella nodded and locked eyes with Jax.
“Jackson…” She said but trailed off as she was getting rather emotional.
“I love you more and more each day. I can’t imagine my life without you, nor do I want to. We’ve come a long way, and we’re better because we have each other. I don’t want to spend my life with anyone, but you and I vow all that other stuff too.”
“Do you now?!” Jax challenged with a smirk.
“I suppose.” She teased with a playful sigh.
The Scot chuckled once they said their piece.
“Ye two really have come a long way. Believe me when I say it gives me great honor doing this ceremony.” Chibs felt the need to get that across knowing how Jax felt when it came to him personally. He wanted Jax to know that nothing would ever get in the way of their brotherhood, or his and Bella’s marriage. Chibs adored them both, and he’d do whatever he could to keep those two together. They truly were meant to be. Even now, the way they looked at one another had the Scot’s heart all aflutter, which was saying a lot.
Chibs had Jax, and Bella exchanged rings, but Jax froze the moment he saw the engraving on his. He understood why she picked that particular song to walk down to. The lyrics rather called out to him but he didn’t understand why, until now. The engraving read “home”.
The Scot pronounced them man and wife but had this sly grin about him afterward.
“Ye hafta say it…” Chibs hinted, and Jax narrowed his eyes Chibs’s direction.
Jax chuckled and nodded once he got what the Scot was saying. He locked eyes with Bella’s once again.
“I promise to treat you as good as my leather and ride you as much as my Harley!” (quote taken from Sons of Anarchy) Jax announced, and everyone went wild.
The Scot gestured for Jax to kiss his bride and Jax wasted no time. He dipped her back then planted one hell of a kiss. Everyone started hooting, hollering, and clapping. Jax paid them no attention as he caressed Bella’s cheek.
“I won’t let you down; I give you my word.” He whispered.
Jax hugged her, and they just stood there in one another’s embrace as everyone around them mingled.
“It ma-mee and da-dee!”
Jax and Bella stopped what they were doing and looked to one another. They followed the familiar voice, and Bella clamped a hand over her mouth as it was Gemma and Abel on Dizzy’s laptop.
Dizzy sent Bella a wink before strutting off.
“Abel…” Bella whispered with a hand over her heart.
Abel smiled and waved.
Bella got a little teary-eyed, and Jax was on the verge himself.
“Mom?!” He called in shock.
Gemma smiled and was petting her grandson’s head.
“Saw the whole thing baby. It was perfect!”
“I wish you and Abel were here.” Jax made clear, and Gemma nodded.
“Wish we were too sweetheart. You two look great and happy. That’s all that matters.”
“Da-dee I come home?”
“Soon little man, soon. I promise.”
Abel’s bottom lip quivered.
“Hey now, we talked about that.” Gemma reminded, and Abel nodded.
“Big like da-dee.”
“That’s right baby. Big and strong like daddy. You’ll be home before you know it.”
“She’s right. We’ll see you soon, and I’ll give you lots of snuggles.” Bella said, and Abel gave a tearful smile.
“You know it, buddy.”
“Otay, I bewieve you.”
“I love you, Abel.” His daddy said.
“Wove you too da-dee and ma-mee.”
Bella staggered back in disbelief. She couldn’t believe just how much he’d grown and how well he was talking now.
“You’re so big and brave, Abel. We’re very proud of you.” Bella said, and Abel nodded.
“I know. I is a VERY big boy now. Gwamma says so.”
“Well, she’s right.”
“You gonna wive with us now?”
Jax smiled and looked to his wife in thought.
“She sure is Abel, just as soon as I find us a new place,” Jax assured.
“Oh yeah, bigger and better! We have lots of memories to build.” Jax said while wrapping his arms around Bella’s waist and he had his head rested on her shoulder.
Gemma smiled and looked at her grandson.
“Time for bed now.”
“But I wanna see ma-mee and da-dee!”
“You’ll see them in just a few days.”
Gemma looked at the camera once again.
“Welcome to the family sweetheart. Take care of my boys.”
“I will. I promise.”
“I know you will. Love you, both of you. Be good and get us home.”
“We will,” Jax said before Gemma shut everything down.
Jax was quick to hug his wife as she started to cry.
“Awe baby, it won’t be long now.”
“I know.” She murmured against his chest.
“So we really did it… we’re husband and wife.”
“That we did.”
Jax cupped her chin and went on to dry her tears with his thumbs.
“Come on darlin’; it’s our wedding day.”
“I know. I just didn’t expect to see them.”
“Trust me I know. But the way I see it, we’re that much closer. We’re getting our family back and adding to it. This is something to celebrate, so let’s celebrate, baby.”
I Think We’re Alone Now by Hidden Citizens started to play and Jax took this opportunity to dance with his bride. This was a song he had picked. Every time he heard it Bella came to mind.
It was crazy how well this was planned, without him or Bella having much to do with it. Opie and Dizzy took everything Bella and Jax had ever said about their wedding and worked together in mapping everything out. Once the song was over, Piney tapped Jax on the shoulder.
“Back off son; I’m cutting in.”
Jax chuckled and stepped aside allowing Piney to dance with his granddaughter.
Opie was off to a corner talking to his kids and Dizzy. Jax headed that way so he could give Bella and Piney some space. The president lifted his head and nodded Jax’s direction. He had Jax follow him into the MC office. Jax chuckled as he could hear Ellie and Kenny complaining about Opie not letting them rush up to Bella, just yet. He thought it was cute how anxious they were to see their cousin, but Opie had made it clear he wanted his niece to enjoy her wedding without being pestered. Opie pulled the door to then lean against it with his arms folded about his chest.
“This the part where you hold a gun to my head and give me the rundown?”
“Something like that…” Opie uttered with a touch of a smirk.
Jax nodded and welcomed himself to the couch. Opie made his way over and handed Jax an envelope. Jax narrowed his eyes in question but went on to open it. There was a key and something else inside. It wasn’t until Jax pulled it out that he realized it was a deed to a house, not just any house. But THE house, the house Jax had wanted for him and Bella.
“Op…” Jax whispered in outright shock.
Opie gave a simple nod then sat beside him. He looked to be in thought for a moment before he spoke.
“I knew you wanted that house but shit went south, and you didn’t get the chance to make that deposit.” Opie cleared his throat.
“The house is yours and Bella’s, Jax. It’s under both names. But there are a few stipulations.”
Jax lifted his head on this.
“Don’t ever lay your hands on her, or that kid of hers…”
“Op, you know I’d ne…”
“Shut up and listen,” Opie said and with a nervous pang in his voice.
“Keep your dick where it belongs and keep your word on cleaning up this club. Break her heart, and I’ll break you. Brother, best friend, none of that matters when it comes to that girl. You know this. I won’t hesitate, I’ll end you and that house will be hers.”
Jax wanted to be pissed but couldn’t. Opie was acting just as he would if he had a daughter. As a father, Jax understood, completely.
“It’s like I said before, none of that will ever happen, but if it does… I want you to end it. Put me six feet under, where I belong. I’d much rather be dead than to hurt my family like that.”
“I’ll do just that,” Opie vowed.
“I know you will.”
There wasn’t a touch of sarcasm between the brothers as they shook on this. Jax, however, looked back to the deed.
“I gotta pay you back for this, brother. I imagine this set you back, quite a bit.”
“Actually it didn’t.”
Jax tilted his head in wonder.
“Donna’s life insurance came in. It was enough to help out with the house, and I was able to put back for Ellie and Kenny’s college fund if they decide that’s what they want to do. They have until their twenty-first birthday to decide.”
“She had that much coverage?!”
“Yeah man, I hadn’t a clue. That was something she set up. Lawyer let me know that Donna wanted our kids to be set for whatever they needed; she included Bella in that will.”
“Damn… You shouldn’t have put my name on it Op.”
“Donna loved you, Jax. It was the club she had an issue with. But you’re cleaning that shit up, and I know that’s what she would’ve wanted.”
Jax nodded and looked at the deed and key once again. He got a little choked up and hugged the hell out of Op.
“Thank you, Op.” He said with utmost sincerity.
Piney spun his granddaughter about, and Bella laughed as he was acting like a complete goofball.
“Someone’s a little tipsy…”
“Just glad to have you back, pain in the ass and all.” Her grandfather said.
“Missed you too, gramps.”
“So what’s it like… knowing you’re going to be great grampy?!” Tig drunkenly called, and Derk recoiled. The room grew eerily silent, and Bella shot Tig a look from hell.
“What?!” He innocently asked, and Derk shook his head.
“You idiot… they didn’t want anyone to know yet.” Derk harshly whispered.
The Sons and the Phantoms were talking amongst one another at the surprise reveal. Piney froze in place and was looking to his granddaughter in disbelief.
“Gramps…” Bella whispered.
“So that’s what this was, a shotgun wedding?!”
“It wasn’t like that. You knew I was going to marry Jackson.”
“But you couldn’t wait to get knocked up.”
Bella let out a miserable laugh. Opie and Jax just happened to catch wind of this as they were exiting the office.
“I expected better out of you. You’re smarter than that. All that talk about waiting until you were married, yet you went in pulled what your mother and Harry pulled.”
Bella recoiled on her grandfather’s harsh words. Opie curled his lip and marched on over.
“Not cool, pops.”
Piney rolled his eyes and went to walk away.
“Apologize,” Opie demanded, and Piney kept walking.
“Goddammit, you’re just a bitter old man with nothing better to do. You have no room to talk, and you know it! The only reason you married mom, was because the fucking condom broke and you felt obligated. You were miserable and ran around on her! What Donna and I had was real, I never fucked around on her, and I stayed because I WANTED TO! You don’t even know what that’s like. So don’t you stand there and lecture like you know your shit because you don’t! What Bella and Jax do, is none of your motherfucking concern or mine for that matter!” Opie hadn’t realized just how long he’d been holding that in, until now. But it was true; his father hadn’t a clue when it came to love. Opie felt bad for him in that sense. But that didn’t give him the right to pick on his granddaughter and her wedding day, nevertheless. Piney stopped in his tracks then spun back around.
“You’re right… it isn’t.”
Piney looked to his granddaughter apologetically.
“I didn’t mean to ruin your day. I’m just worried about you, kid. Donna was right that dress its perfect, and so are you.” The Original Nine said, and this had everyone by surprise.
That was the nicest thing Piney had ever said in his entire life.
“Did he…” Opie started to say, and Jax chuckled.
“You’ll never hear anything remotely close to that again.” Jax made clear, and Bella snorted.
“Think he’ll be alright?” Bella questioned with concern.
“Oh yeah, he’ll forget this conversation even took place. Then he’ll have a list of names to pick from if it’s a boy.” Opie muttered.
“You two go have fun; it’s your night. Don’t let the old man or anyone else get in the way. All I ask is that you stay put. Can’t afford to be seen.”
“Agreed,” Jax said, and Opie nodded.
He hugged them both then went on his way.
Jax and Bella went on to cut their cake and had their toast.
But it was during their toast that Bella leaned into her husband’s ear.
“I know this is our wedding and all but would it be terribly rude to sneak away and get some fucking sleep?”
Jax chuckled. They’d gone a good twenty-eight hours if not more without sleep.
“Actually, I was thinking the same thing. I’m dog tired.” He admitted.
“Good, me too.”
Jax waited until they hadn’t any eyes on them. Then he took her by the hand and snuck into the back room without being noticed.
When Bella woke the following morning, Jax was looking at his ring.
Her husband smiled then put the ring back on.
“Everything’s perfect. I love the engraving and the song. I didn’t get the chance to say that last night.”
“Just wanted you to know you always have a home, even when on the road.”
“And you haven’t any idea what that means to me.”
Jax pulled her into his arms then kissed her.
“So Mrs. Teller what will it be for breakfast?” He asked as they never got that food last night and both their stomachs were growling now.
“Anything you want, I’ll find a way.”
“I want French toast, lots of bacon, orange juice, annnnd…”
“That’s my girl. I’ll get to that. You just stay put and chill.”
Jax hopped on up and got dressed. He pecked her on the lips then stuffed a cigarette into his mouth.
“Be back in a bit.”
Bella curled up back under the covers, and Jax chuckled.
“Nice isn’t it?” He hinted as to having a nice warm bed to sleep in for once.
“So nice.” She murmured behind a moan.
“Right?! Hell, I didn’t want to leave that shower last. That shit felt great!” He said before exiting the room.
Jax frowned after looking into the clubhouse fridge.
“What’s that look for?” Dizzy questioned as she and Kelly were cleaning up after the wedding.
“There ain’t shit in the fridge, and we’re fucking starving.”
“Oh, I can imagine. Why don’t you tell us what you want and we’ll pick it up?”
“Sure you don’t mind?”
“Wouldn’t offer if I did. I’ll have one of your boys go with us, so your prez doesn’t yell at us for hours on end. I swear it’s like I’m living with my father all over again.”
Jax chuckled in thought.
“Yeah, he can get that way at times.”
“Do you guys need anything else? Maybe some clothes?”
“Actually yeah, that’d be great. Thanks, darlin’.”
“No prob. Just let us finish up here, and we’ll get to that.”
Jax nodded and went on to brew him and Bella some coffee. He had it in mind to speak with Opie about holding a meeting. He needed to see what the others thought about Bella’s idea. Still, he couldn’t believe they’d be dealing with the fucking Italian mob. They needed to go over that and the final details when it came to the Irish and the Russians. Jax was sure he needed to be brought to light on a few things as well. He knew Stahl and Jimmy was out of the picture now, but he hadn’t the entire story on how all that went down.
Once the coffee finished brewing, he poured him and Bella a cup then headed back to the bedroom. Bella had fallen back asleep, so Jax set her coffee down on the nightstand. He sat at the edge of the bed and sipped at his coffee. He couldn’t help but see Bella in a whole new light now. This woman vowed herself to him, and after everything he’d put her through, that made her a fucking saint. He couldn’t believe she was his. Had he dreamt it?! The man looked at the wedding band on his finger then nodded amongst himself. Home indeed he thought with a smile.
“I love you, Bella.” He whispered before heading back out.
Jax figured he should go over things with Op before the girls got back with his and Bella’s breakfast. They could eat after the meeting.
“I was setting up church anyhow. I know there are a lot of things we need to go over.” Jax nodded at Opie’s response.
He hadn’t told him about his niece’s idea, just yet. He thought it best to wait until the others were here. Opie had sent Greg to go with the girls. So he’d be absent for this meeting. Opie would catch him up later, and if anything needed to be voted on, he’d call. Opie got everyone’s attention, and they headed into the chapel.
“Where’s Trager?” Opie asked.
“He just pulled up.” Chibs uttered as he glanced out the window.
“Boytoy must’ve kept him up all night…” He added with a smirk.
The guys laughed then went on to take their seats. Jax couldn’t help but feel slightly awkward as Opie took his place at the gavel. Jax sat beside Happy and leaned back in his chair.
“Where’s your cut?” Opie questioned but in a somewhat scolding manner.
Jax cocked a brow at this.
“You have it, remember?” He said as if to say “duh”.
The president combed his fingers through his beard then gestured for Jax to stand up. Tig had just entered the room and caught the tail end of this.
“No cut, no sitting at the table.”
“You’re fucking serious, aren’t you?”
“You know the rules, Jax.”
Jax curled his lip but came to his feet. He backed himself up against the wall, leaned against it then folded his arms over his chest.
Jax knew this was just Op’s way of giving him hell. Sure, it was one of the rules, but it wasn’t like Jax had officially turned his cut in. This was supposed to be temporary. He was still a Son! Jax hadn’t realized what he said until he had all eyes on him. Yep, he just called the president of SAMCRO “fucker” and was giving him attitude on top of it. Not a good start coming back. Best friend or not, Jax was in the wrong and knew it. He cut Opie an apologetic glance then popped a smoke into his mouth. Opie sighed amongst himself then slammed the gavel down, starting the meeting.
Opie went over everything Jax had missed since he and Bella had gone into hiding. Things such as Stahl and Jimmy’s demise and what all took place. Jax found himself impressed on how Opie handled that and how he managed to stay off the sheriff’s office’s tail. That took some sheer genius on Opie’s part. Sure, Jax knew the others had a hand in it as well, but it was mostly Opie’s handling. Jax himself pointed out how the kings would show any day now, and the Sons nodded in agreement.
“Aye, which is why we gotta act fast and get prepared,” Chibs stated, and Jax looked to Opie in thought.
“Did you go over the plans with them?”
“Aye, we’re all aware, but sayin’ and doin’ are two different things. If they catch us off-guard…”
“Trust me I know… I won’t let that happen.” Jax assured.
“We won’t let that happen.” Opie corrected.
“You’re not alone in this, Jax. We’re all in this.” The president reminded, and Jax nodded.
“Then I say we stock up, tonight, just in case.”
“Alright, first word of the kings, we set up that meeting.”
“I’ll handle ole Galen.” Chibs volunteered as he was used to being the one to deal with the Irish anyhow.
“Then I’ll deal with Mr. Putlova,” Opie said.
Jax went over everything he could think of. He was very specific on how the Sons needed to handle this. Jax even knew what Opie and Chibs needed to say, had the perfect place setup, you name it, Jax already had everything mapped out, along with a plan b and c, just in case things went south. This had Opie, Chibs, and Tig looking to one another. Jax hadn’t taken notice as he was deep into his plans. He had a spreadsheet out and was going over everything thoroughly, so there wouldn’t be any confusion. It was during this that Chibs retrieved something from the chapel closet. He tossed it over Opie’s direction, and Opie caught it. Still, Jax took no notice. Jax finished going over the plans and was about to mention Bella’s idea when Opie gathered everyone’s attention. He had everybody quiet down. Jax took his place back at the wall. Opie just sat there for a few moments. He ran his hand along the gavel then looked to Jax. He said nothing as he tossed Jax’s cut over.
“Put it on and have a seat.”
Jax nodded and did as his president requested. It felt good being in that cut again. He hadn’t felt the weight of it for so long, at least it seemed long to him. Opie stood up then took his off. Jax tilted his head in question when Opie took his knife out from its holster. He used it to remove the president patch. Opie dropped it onto the table then slid it on over towards Jax.
“We held a vote after your wedding. We all agree that you belong here, at the gavel. Not me, or Chibs, but you. Face it, Teller. We’re lost without you, even in death, we had to turn to you. I think that alone shows just how much we count on you.”
Jax swallowed back as this made a first for Opie to call him by his last name. But he knew why and that’s what had him so choked up. That was Opie’s way of saying Jax was his father’s son. He was a Teller, through and through and here he was, finally living out his father’s legacy. He would see this through, and he would make JT proud.
“Don’t I get a vote on this?” Jax taunted, and Opie laughed.
“And what?! Put me back in this chair, the hell with you! Take it back!” Opie said then backed away from like it were a curse.
The Sons died of laughter. Opie shook Jax’s hand then hugged him. Everyone stood up, out of respect and looked on as Jax took his rightful place back at the gavel. Jax felt somewhat emotional as he ran his fingers along that gavel and looked at each of his boys. He loved being with his old lady for a two solid months, but there was no denying how much he missed this club and his brothers. He was forever thankful to have someone that understood that. With Bella, he could have it all, have it all as in be himself. That’s all he ever wanted.
Jax cleared his throat then grabbed the gavel and began his first meeting as president, since his return. He got right to business, knowing he hadn’t much time. The girls would be back soon, and he wanted to make certain his old lady actually ate. She had lost quite a bit of weight, and he was growing more and more concerned. If it hadn’t been for needing to keep hidden, he’d have sent her to a doctor already. Jax went over everything Bella had said about the Italians and her idea. Like that of Jax, they rather frowned upon the idea. None of them liked the notion of dealing with the fucking mob. That and the incredible cut in price, but they understood what Bella was going for. They needed those guns gone, just as soon as they were finished dealing with the Irish and the Russians. They couldn’t afford to be on the grid after that. Bella knew the only way of securing that was to offer half price. That had each of them nauseous in thought. But as Bella said, they’d still make bank, just nowhere near what they were worth. There was just no way anyone would pay full price, not many could. Jax couldn’t help but think of how nice that would be. Each of them would be set, for life, if they could take that route. That’d be their last transaction, having anything to do with the cartel. Though he wished they could get what they were worth, he’d feel better just knowing they were finally out, once and for all. So Jax put all his faith into his wife and her suggestion and was doing his best to sell this. It took quite a bit of convincing, but they finally agreed to see what the Italians had to say. So Jax let them know they’d set up a meeting with this guy Bella mentioned after they dealt with the shitfest storm coming their way.
Jax was just about to dismiss when Opie let Jax know about Ima Tite and the trouble she caused. He told Jax that she was fired and wasn’t to be seen on clubhouse grounds, or Cara Cara for that matter. Jax chuckled in thought.
“I’d planned on replacing her anyhow. She’s old news and old pussy.” He cruelly stated.
“Cara Cara could use a fresh face… I’ll let Lyla and the others handle that one.” Jax added.
Normally, he’d have some say, like watching a scene or flat-out testing them out himself before they hired whoever the girls picked out. But he knew Bella would have his balls, if not his dick altogether. There were just some things he just couldn’t do, not as a married man. He meant it when he said things would be different this time around. The old Jax wouldn’t give a damn what his old lady thought. It was sex… nothing more. At least that’s what the former Jackson Teller him would’ve thought. He couldn’t get away with shit like that now, nor did he want to. For once, he knew what it meant to be in a respectful, yet loving relationship. He wouldn’t take that for granted. He wanted to be like Op when it came to Donna; he wanted to give his wife and family his all, just as Opie did.
“What about the sister?” Tig threw out there while wiggling his brows.
Jax cut him a look and shook his head.
“Are you trying to get me divorced, already?!”
Tig looked at Jax like he didn’t get it.
“Let me get this straight… You want me to ask one of my wife’s Phantoms to take Ima’s place, the younger sister at that?!”
“What?! She’s hot!”
“Oh hell no, and you better not even mention that shit to the Phantoms. I mean it, Trager, I’ll kick your fucking ass if you even bring it up! I said a fresh face anyhow, meaning no one within the clubhouse, allies included.”
Tig incoherently grumbled under his breath. Chibs handed Opie his VP patch back, and this had Tig pouting in realization. He clamped a hand over his sergeant patch and shook his head.
“Come on man…” He pleaded, and Chibs sighed in frustration.
“Hand it over.”
“Nah, I say we have a vote!” Tig announced, and Jax covered his mouth to keep from laughing.
“Yeah, I’m serious!”
“Alright let’s vote!” He said in agreement.
Derk raised his brows as he was kicked back on the couch when Tig exited the chapel. Tig was bitching up a storm and making his way to the bar. Derk came to his feet and headed that way.
“What’s with you?”
“Nothing…” He pouted, and Derk could hear Chibs and Jax laughing.
Derk cupped Tig’s chin and locked eyes with his.
“Lost your patch?”
Derk nodded and went on to pour him a drink.
“I loved that patch,” Tig muttered, and Derk smiled amongst himself.
“I know you did. You’ll get it back one day, you’ll see.”
“Would you kill the stupid Scot for me?” He asked but felt someone flick him on the ear.
“Yer gonna have me offed, so ye can get the patch back?!”
“Thinking about it…”
Chibs nodded then sat beside him.
“Ye’ve come a long way, Trager. That’s why we entrusted ye ta the patch ta begin with. Yer what came ta mind when I thought about who could take my place, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Derk took notice of the stunned appearance on Tig’s face. Chibs downed the shot Derk had poured him then went about his way, leaving Tig to his thoughts.
It was perfect timing as Jax exited the chapel, just as Dizzy, Kelly, and Greg entered the clubhouse. His mouth practically watered at the smell of real food. Dizzy laughed at how quick he grabbed the bags containing his and Bella’s breakfast. He pecked Dizzy, Kelly, and Greg on the cheek then took off towards the backroom. Greg touched his cheek where Jax had kissed him.
“Makes you question everything, huh?” Dizzy teased, and Greg smiled.
Kip overheard this however and shook his head.
“Thanks…” He sarcastically put, and Dizzy giggled.
“Oh Kip, you know you’re my shining star!”
Greg plopped down beside Kip on the couch.
“How good of kisser are you?”
Kip reared back, and Greg sent him a wink.
“Dude!” He said as Greg wrapped his arm around him.
“You wanna help me out here?!” He hollered, and Dizzy shook her head no.
In fact, she sat before them and gestured for Greg to go on.
“This could be really hot. I think I’ll watch!”
“That’s fucked up babe!”
Happy died of laughter as Kip had this look of absolute horror about him.
“Hey, darlin’…” Jax called as Bella was sitting up in the bed.
“Hey…” she tiredly called.
Jax held handed over one of the bags.
“Breakfast is served.”
“Oh thank God.” Bella couldn’t get into that bag fast enough.
She pulled out her container and just gawked at the scrumptious sight before her.
“Looks so fucking good.”
Jax nodded and kicked back beside her. He wasn’t about to eat until he knew she could hold hers down. “Go on, baby. Try it.” He encouraged.
Bella looked somewhat fearful as she took that first bite. But after that, she was chowing down like no one’s business. Jax chuckled and went on to eat his as well. Bella burped halfway through her meal and looked to Jax with a flushed face. Jax died of laughter thinking the look on her face was downright adorable. Bella joined in on that laughter however as Jax shrugged and let out this deep and guttural belch.
“That’s so gross!” She said but was still laughing.
Jax took another bite of his eggs but stopped chewing and narrowed his eyes. Bella had the covers thrown off her and was in a SAMCRO tank top and black panties. The tank top was scrunched up exposing her stomach. Jax swallowed those eggs then reached over and ran his hand along the slight bump along Bella’s tummy. Bella looked at Jax’s hand, as he went on to caress that bump.
“That’s so cool…” He whispered as if in another world.
“I’m not even showing yet!”
Jax chuckled at her reaction and moved his hand. He grabbed Bella’s and had her feel for herself. Her jaw dropped, and he sent her a wink.
“But I’m not that far along yet. Jesus, I’m gonna be huge!”
“Nah, you’re gonna be perfect.” Jax uttered with that dreamlike presence.
Bella finished her food, without any issue. Jax hoped that was a sign that her morning sickness was starting to fade. He hadn’t a clue how long that stuff lasted. Jax handed over the iron supplement and the prenatal vitamins Dizzy had gotten her. Bella popped them into her mouth then downed her orange juice. She let out a sigh of relief and leaned back against the pillow.
“It’s nice to see you hold something down, for once.”
“Right?! It’s nice to have a full belly!”
“Full indeed.” He teased as to the baby.
“Just as soon as we’re done with all this crazy shit, I want you to set up a doctor’s appointment.”
“I want to be there too.”
Bella smiled then leaned into his chest.
“I want to be there for everything, Bella.” He made clear then kissed the top of her head.
The two just lay there holding one another for a few more minutes. Jax knew he had to get to work soon; there was a lot to make up for, after two months. He wanted to soak up whatever time he could, however, considering things were about to get insane, and he and Bella wouldn’t have much time to even think when that storm hit.
“I love you,” Bella whispered.
“I love you too, Bella baby. I know we’re about to deal with some serious shit but never forget that. We’re about to be tested all over again. Just keep in mind we’re in this together. Keyword always, together.”
Jax sighed knowing he had to get to it. He crawled on out of bed then grabbed his and Bella’s trash.
“I want you to relax. If you’re tired go back to sleep. I don’t want you worrying about anything.”
“I’ve got things to do also, Jackson…” She reminded as to the Phantoms.
“Yeah well, you’re grounded at the moment, we both are. Just keep it under SAMCRO roof for now, alright?”
“Hmmm, that’s what I like to hear.” He teased before exiting the room.
“There she is!” Dizzy announced once Bella stepped out of the bedroom.
The Phantoms and Tig looked over. The Sons were in the garage getting caught up on whatever they were behind on. They’d plans of gathering some of their weapons tonight. They’d keep them wrapped and hidden in sleeping bags; this was their go to when crossing Mayan territory. They figured they could get away with that while dealing with the Russians and Irish, considering the meeting place would require the Sons spending a couple of nights outside of Charming. The boys didn’t like doing business that close to their hometown. Then again anything that risked the residents of Charming’s lives they weren’t down for. All the more reason they needed to be done with this, once and for all.
Bella walked on over and sat between Dizzy and Derk. Tig was on the other side of Derk and had his head in his lap as he was looking at the ceiling. Each of them was in their own world and vegging out when Kelly entered the clubhouse. Bella shot up from the couch as Kelly was holding a hand along her stomach.
“Kelly?!” Bella called, and Kelly reached out and left a trail of blood along the bar as she was using it to brace herself.
“KELLY!” Bella shouted in a panic once she realized she’d been shot.
“GET CHIBS!” She screamed then placed her hands on the area.
“She killed them… She killed them.” Kelly said as she was going into hysterics.
“Who killed who?!”
“I tried to stop her, but she just kept shooting.”
“Stay with me, Kelly,” Bella said as her eyes were rolling into the back of her head.
“Dammit! Don’t you do this!” Bella shouted as she continued in keeping pressure on the wound.
“Tell Eric, I’m sorry. I should’ve stayed put. But she called and…”
Blood oozed out of Kelly’s mouth, and she started choking. The door to the clubhouse swung open, and Bella glanced that direction.
“KELLY?!” Eric frantically hollered.
“Eric…” Kelly whimpered.
Chibs entered right behind him, and Bella showed him the area. The Scot shook his head. He didn’t say it, but he knew there was no saving this one. The wound was just too deep and hit a main artery. The girl had lost too much blood. There was a trail leading from her car to the clubhouse. Chibs wondered just how the hell she survived the drive. Bella had Chibs take over, and she followed the trail of blood. Bella grabbed a hooded jacket and put it on before heading outside. She headed over to Kelly’s car and grimaced as there was a puddle of blood on the driver’s side, and there was blood all over the steering wheel. Bella took notice of Kelly’s cell phone in the passenger side chair. She grabbed it then skimmed through it. The last call came from Ima. Bella shook her head but took notice of something else, a video message. Bella clicked on it then watched in horror. Bella jumped at the sound of screaming and gunshots. Bella could hear Kelly shouting at Ima in the background. She was begging her to stop, but the popping sound of the gun kept going. Bella grimaced as she caught wind of the bodies and the last thing she saw was Ima aiming a gun towards Kelly as she was recording what was taking place. The video came to an abrupt end. Bella wiped the phone down then tossed it back into the seat. She stumbled out of the car in a drunken-like fashion. Each step felt as though she were walking in quicksand. Bella lifted her head as sirens were heard. Before she could even think about what was happening, she was lifted up off the ground. Whoever had her was running, like a bat out of hell. She heard a door slam shut, and she was placed in a chair.
“Hey…” he called and lowered her hood.
“You alright?” Jax questioned, and Bella merely blinked.
Jax sighed and went on to look around the basement. He needed a better hiding place.
That video, however, kept replaying in that head of Bella’s. All those girls… Ima killed them.
“Jackson…” Bella whispered in tears.
Jax glanced her direction as he was looking around the basement.
“Your girls… they’re dead.”
Jax narrowed his eyes in question.
“Cara Cara… Ima she…” Bella came to her feet, and Jax darted back over as she was stumbling about.
Jax hadn’t much time to react as he could hear the sheriff and his boys entering the clubhouse.
“We gotta find a better place to hide.” He said then took her by the hand.
He dragged Bella into the area where the water heater was. They managed to squeeze on through, and Jax pulled the door shut. The space between them and the water heater was so tight they were hip to hip and chest to chest. Jax put a single finger to her lips and listened. He wanted to make certain no one was heading their way. He doubted they’d even enter the basement. But he wasn’t about to take that risk. He knew they were here because of Kelly being shot and whatever Ima had done. Jax, however, thought back to what Bella said about his girls.
“What did Ima do?” He whispered.
Bella told him what she saw in the video and what Kelly had said. Jax grew pale then closed his eyes. They waited until they heard Opie entered and gave them the clear. One look, however, said it all.
“I’m sorry…” Opie said, and Jax was quick to hug his wife as she broke into sobs.
“He tried, so did the paramedics. But there was nothing they could do. Eric rode with her…”
Opie looked at Jax afterward.
“She shot our girls, but the sheriff’s on his way, meaning you two gotta stay here. I’m sorry Jackson.” Opie knew Jax wouldn’t like staying behind.
“Op…” Jax muttered looking ill.
“I know… trust me I know.” Opie said while shedding a few tears of his own.
“Stay put and keep an eye on one another,” Opie said knowing both would be seeking revenge, but they couldn’t afford to do that.
“Clubhouse is clear. We gotta go.”
Opie hugged them then went about his way.
Bella and Jax looked to one another as if lost on what to do.
“We’re not seriously staying here?! They need us!” Bella said, and Jax nodded in agreement.
“We might not be able to show our faces at the studio, but I have an idea.” He said as he thought back to what Derk had said.
The Phantom had mentioned them going undercover and working under Dizzy, as a cover.
Bella followed Jax’s lead. They couldn’t get over how quiet the clubhouse was. The Phantoms were supposed to stay put as well, but Opie had Greg and a prospect join them as they went to pay their respects to Kelly. Piney had taken the kids to his place for now. Opie didn’t want them around all the drama.
Jax grabbed the duffle bag with the Phantom t-shirts and ski-masks. They headed to the bathroom where Jax had Bella cut his hair, and he shaved after. Bella frowned once they finished.
“You look so different…”
“It won’t be for long, I promise.”
Bella had this pouty look about her as she caressed his baby face.
“You’re still hot, but I dig my biker more.”
That melted the man’s heart. Tara always preferred him baby-faced, and she even admitted to liking the shorter hair. Jax grabbed a fistful of Bella’s then heatedly kissed her. There was a lot of emotion behind that kiss. If he were going to walk through hell, he wouldn’t have it any other way. He needed this girl by his side, and he knew she needed him. She just lost another one of her Phantoms, making three in all, four if you included Han. The Sons lost a brother, and there was no telling how many Cara Cara girls Ima took out. Jax knew this was the bitch’s way of seeking revenge. She didn’t take kindly to being fired, much less being banished from anything SAMCRO related. Like that of Tara, Ima went off the deep end. Tara was currently on the sheriff’s wanted list due to Tara being the last person David saw before he came up missing. What was it with these women? Jax looked to his wife in thought.
“Do I make women crazy?”
“You sure do…” She teased while wiping a stray tear from her cheek.
“I’m serious baby… Did I do this? Did I get Juice and these girls killed?!”
Bella swallowed back seeing just how serious Jax was. The man was beside himself and honestly thought there was something wrong with him.
“Jackson, you didn’t do this, they did.”
“But look at Wendy… She almost killed my son. Tara killed Juice and Ima…” Jax trailed off then pinched his eyes shut.
“You just needed to be the one doing the chasing…” Bella self-consciously uttered, and Jax cocked a brow.
“Come on Jackson… They were the ones chasing you, even Tara. She might’ve been the one doing the dumping, but you were the one running, always were, you just didn’t know it. Why do you think you couldn’t commit to any of these women, granted one of them was a porn star…”
“Never thought of it that way. But you’re right; I was running, like a bat out of fucking hell.”
Jax cleared his throat and went on to cut Bella’s hair. Bella cringed with each snip.
“Sorry darlin’.” Jax always loved those long beautiful locks of hers, but they had no choice.
If they were going to help the Sons, they had to go undercover, as Phantoms. Dizzy’s newest recruits, at that. They might not have been able to show their faces at the studio itself, but they could go on a witch-hunt.
“He’ll be pissed…” Bella hinted as to her uncle.
“Yeah well, he’s no longer prez.” Jax pointed to the patch on his cut.
“Little early too be patching you back in.”
“I thought so too, but the boys made it clear they’d be wearing Velcro patches over theirs for now. So in the public eye, Op’s still prez.”
“I thought so.”
Bella and Jax were doing everything within their power to keep their emotions intact. Jax finished with Bella’s hair then had her take a look in the mirror.
“Gives you a bit of an edge. I won’t lie. Gonna miss your long hair.”
They hopped into the shower, rinsed off then hurried and got into their Phantom wear. Bella tossed over one of the ski masks.
“Now we need a car.” She said, and Jax nodded in thought.
“We need your Phantoms.”
Bella recoiled in thought. It was bad enough she wasn’t there. She couldn’t imagine what Eric must be going through.
“I’ll see what I can do.”
Jax handed one of the cellphones over, and Bella called Dizzy. She kept it short and sweet and to the point. Dizzy arrived within a matter of minutes, and she had the entire crew with her, including that of Eric.
“Eric…” Bella said apologetically.
“I have no words…” She admitted, and Eric nodded.
“Let’s just find this bitch and put an end to it.”
“We’re not killing her.” Jax made clear, and the Phantoms sent him a look of utter and complete hell.
Bella herself was looking to Jax in disbelief.
“She’s going to turn herself in. Imagine someone like her doing life… She’s going to rot behind those bars if she doesn’t wind up shanked. Trust me. She’ll suffer more if we keep the bitch alive.”
“If that’s the plan… Then I’ll make certain she truly suffers.” Bella made clear with a nod Eric’s direction.
“She’ll be tortured and beat on a daily basis,” Bella confirmed.
“Oh shit… you’re talking about Gina!” Dizzy declared as she’d forgotten all about her.
Gina was an old street racer friend of Han’s. She was facing life after she nearly killed her abusive and cheating husband. It was how she did it that had her facing life. No jury wanted to touch that, and her abuser somehow gained their sympathy. Gina mutilated the bastard’s penis while giving him a blowjob. She wouldn’t let go for anything. The bastard ended up having to get surgery because of it, and he couldn’t get an erection anymore. Gina pleaded guilty, with pride, letting it known she’d do it again.
“That’s right. I’ll make her a deal, and make certain Ima enjoys the prison life.”
